I've been working on a map for quite a while now, and its gonna be sigma1337s first map, its getting close to completion and hopefully it'll be ready for beta by the weekend,i have some recent pictures of it, and if you want more just PM me and i'll post or send em

*this is a bit older, w/o the textured bases*

the messed up uvs on the bottom of the base are getting fixed, so don't comment on those PLZ.

Have you seen in ironclads thread about the fist of rutk? (SP?) he show's a picture of a base with a banshee and hogs. I would guess it's a little smaller than Valhalla's base and scale. I know it's not Valhalla, just the bases. can't wait...all custom weapons? Besides the Gravity Hammer?

i see some things thats not in the valhalla base..Like the front door..And the side doors is a little closer to the main mancannon..

correct, it is not exactly like valhalla, more or less it is our map with a valhalla style base. and as for the fist of rukt, i believe im going to open source that entirely.(NO PROMISES) we will use m6deep's gravity hammer, also shown in the same thread, in this map instead.

as for weapons, all custom. what they are is nunyabiznass.

not the best model in the world but its animated. deep is texturing it i believe, and i need to tag it still. although, i intend it to be almost exactly like the h3 brute mauler. heres the catch. i read somewhere that it shots blue spikes in a shotgun blast.... but if u seen pics, the thing glows red. the spiker glows blue and it shoots orange-ish spikes? makes no sense. so the spiker's spikes will be blue and the maulers spikes will be red. simple as that.

i really have to say, congrats. im happy that you don't side with just one team for h3 projects. i have to say, i do get jealous sometimes of other peoples stuff but thats what drove me to learn so much. but really, im happy you like it

I like the design but it definitely needs more work. the model looks ok but a lot of things dont look so good. the rocks and cliffs look kind off "edge-y" if that makes sense. they need to look more natural. and the UV's as massacre pointed out are disappointing.

Well, this is about as far as Archive V1 was when I joined. Meaning that it's almost ingame, but not quite, and when it is ingame, it looks very different then when it does in Max.
The UVWs look a little messed up, and the map overall needs some "Oomph" to it, but I can probably compensate for it with a redone ATV, as well as a couple Sigma 1337 Flags and maybe redone shotgun sounds and bitmaps.
I'll get on those right now, and post my results in a few.

Yes I did.
Anyway, here's the flags (I used the old UMT flag bitmap as a source, since it takes quite a bit to rig a flag bitmap for Halo and have it work correctly. Original bitmap is from Command and Conquer, I think):

and it would be nice if you guys point out where there are messed up uvs, and things. I would also like to point out that this map is not even 75% done, so there will be improvements...MASSACRE. so you guys can expect more outta me. I have a very dedicated academic life so its hard for me to do this stuff on the weekdays, so it'll take time for me to even model something, let alone finish a map, but i would like to thank you for your criticism, that stuff helps out...


EDIT: and if you guys know me well, i cant model terrain to save my life, i like modeling indoor maps, more urban type things. I'm way better at skinning than modeling in my opinion. but yeah your comments only help me get better, so thanks. Especially from massacre, that dude helps out alot, more than you guys would know.

yeah i know, and its always nice gettin helpful advice from a "CMT DUDE" and i'll take into account what you said, and you guys said too much water? well there are some underwater tunnels and stuff that make up for that, idk if that changes your minds about the water or not, but i hope it does.

Archive beta 1 wasn't much better, Mass, and look at you 3 months later, now you're on CMT. Just give this one time, let us (Or at least me) get back into my "We need to fix this, this, and this" attitude after the first beta of it, and it'll look much better.
I do think there should be a little less water, by the way, but I need to see it ingame before I can pass any further judgment.
And no, Ganon's making sure I'm not using UMT's shotty sounds. I have my own.

Nope, lol. I don't have any source bitmaps to work with, but if what you told me on Xfire is correct, then I'm assuming we won't use those.

And yes, nugga, the amount of water seemed fine when i made the river bed, and its not deep at all, mb to chief's thighs the deepest, and its not really as big as the Uvs make it look.
