Hey friends, just wanted to let you know about the little progress.. and share with you the last changes I'm making on the model.. but more on the level design side..

First I want to tell you all I'm very glad to have a new parter working on all the stuff I not good (sapien, max uvw, portals..)

This guy is E3PO and he's replacing Skyline (Man thks so much for all your work on V2).. Well E3PO is really motivated, efficient, fast, talented and listening well to what I want (poor man, he's got a list of like 500 things to do lol).. Thks to him I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.. Alos D4no told me my custom hog was like done and Matooba's working ahrd to finish the H3 ATV with help of Jay.. Thks you guys keep it up!

During our last test we noticed the Panic Room at the beach was not protecting enough someone inside when recieving a nade on the roof for example.. So I'm completly remodeling the Panic room to make it bigger.. but I also added one new thing I want to add since long.. There's now an exit inside it.. I mean , when you are inside whith the "shields on" (so nobody can enter) you can now take a path/corridor that goes under the ground/water and leads you to the baech base or a 2nd path to another place of the beach..

When i created the Panic ROom, I wanted it to be a place where you could hide in case of vulnerability but above all if you had the flag and when being in danger could hide in a little room/prison (lol) waiting for some help of your team.. But I thought lastly that there were very few chances people would use it when they had the flag cause when you catch it, the 2 teleporters brings you to ATV base or to a place you all know dosen't let you see the beach.. So from now, the "walk way" teleporter (not the one that teleport you to ATV) will bring you just next to the Panic room!

Also the other reason for this when you're taking the "walk way tele on the bases's roof.. I find the way to the flags too is easy and too short when comparing with tele bringing you to the ATV's.. So now that the ATV/hog way is even harder in V2 (with all the doors).. Well to balance this lets make the "walk way" out of teleporter harder by making you spawn just next to the PANIC ROOM..

I ave 1 question will the atv be more stabeler than it was in v1?

Yes defenetly, as stable as the H3 ATV can be

It's a room where you can panic and flip out and break things.

As long as it is no longer the camper paradise the original was, Kiwi will be happy to play it.

Yoyorast is French? Kiwi thought he was Korean or something... that probably came from that trip he made.

LOL, oui je suis français.. and my the trip I made was to thaïland..
and yes there'll still be camping points but will be harder and more dangerous for the campers.. but for me camping always made part of the game.. you just have to watch out..

Before you finalise the model. Put a little island out far in the water. And then just place a palm tree in it. That would be awsome. I have always imagined a little island out there while standing on the ebach. Don't make me imagine any more.

As long as they don't get 30 kills and 0 deaths cause they can sit in a safe spot with a rocket and sniper.

It looks great and I can't wait to go and buy a new Halo disk and a new sound card so I can play this awesome looking map. Looks great, and I know there's still probably a ways to go, but so far, great job.

I agree with Dsal, the palm trees arent exactly that pleasing, the beach could be free of trees, I guess, but its up to you.

Love how much work youve done on it.


Well to tell you the truth, I always been wondering if I keep those trees or not.. I'm not completly satified with them.. I'll see..

H1 weapn only but custom vehicles..

Wow yoyorast. this map sounds like it will feature better gameplay than every map in halo 3 combined. i like the idea of the panic room and how you spawn there now.

is there no way at all to be killed in the panic room?


You have one minute till the shield goes off and people can burn your head.. but once inside you can also take the new paths/corridors that leads you to other places underground.. but carefull with who is waiting you at the exits..

Sorry but I wont do that, eveysingle place I created in V2 participates to the gameplay, I dont want any place "just for fun" that could encourage to do something else than playing.. That's also why you wont see any secret room.. and anyway, I dont have room for any new poly , we still got some clipping problem .. I'm still trying to get some more out (what I'm doing for the past 6 month) + Sinned is improving/ optimizing the portals..

I'm curious to the poly count. An ilsand out there would only be 10 polies at max. I have doen it before. And it would be sooo far out there that it just adds to the beauty.

I'm more of an artistic mapper. And it would look alot better if ti was modled. It wouldn't be that far out. It would be close enough so when you are on one side of the beach you will see just a slightly different angle.

im not sure if thats possible to do as a model itself, but it could be a texture on a plane that is animated to do that.
