Hi, Dhark here.
Just posting here to request some help regarding human resources (people). We have been a 2 man team basically for the last 3 years and our projects are just stacking up, making life rather complicated.
Of course we've had a member or two come and go during our course but we could use more...reliable people.
We did manage to Beta one of our more favoured maps (IG-WYS_Beta); but we still have 5 maps we want to complete, and if possible in a short span of time.

We need the following people, in this order of priority:

We need a texturer who is pretty good. It would be really, REALLY nice if he/she can Unwrap UVW efficiently and useful.
Animator who can replicate realistic movments, and if possible, knows how to make the animations useable for halo, to save some work on us.
An additional modeler who can create People, and if possible rig them too.) Or at least be good enough to model things like chairs, desks and assorted items.
A 3D/Photoshop Artist would probably be nice too.

Also: We are thinking about restarting our machinima side, in which case we would need actors that can listen and will so to speak: bend over and won't screw around.
Voice actors would also be nice to have.

We also have a bit of a probation period but don't worry, it's not as bad as you would think.

If your interested please, either go to:

http://www.intergalactic-morons.fumbari.com/

Go to the forums and sign up (please read the sticky topic under rules please, its actually important.)
and/or
email: igm.forum.admin@gmail.com
I don't check PMs on this account often but I will read up on this topic.

For anyone else, check us out! You may be interested in some of our future projects. :D
We could use the traffic / forum signups xP

My XFire = igmatlan

ah awesome (notes that this seems to have been posted in the wrong area, if a moderator would care to move it into the 'general' section, thatd be cool sry -.-;)

Oh also about your question concerning what we do in IG...

This is one of our projects for halo ce, its basically going to be a fully functional capital ship that is...about x4 the size of the PoA. And yes that's possible, although I personally feel it should be larger...
The one you see in the image above is the special version, not available to anyone except loyal IG workers and/or people who deserve to be rewarded. It's basically 60% longer and has 3 full floors, 3 hangers and an extremely long vehicle bay as well as better modeling, as opposed to 1.5 floors, long vehicle bay and 1.5 hangers.
We'll make a beta to the BFS soon, with most of the modeling done and basic textures.

We also got a whole lot of other projects that can be viewed at our homepage.
that would be including our soon to be made machinima which will be rather....interesting and very, very questionable

hmmm....im probably forgetting to mention something...oh well if i remember it ill say something.

aside from that if ur gunna sign up on our forums, dont forget to read the sticky topic in the rules section; its actually important unlike alot of readmes xP

Well, that's a very weird, un community aimed idea to make a 'Small, dubbed out'' version of a map and actually release the good one only to close friends. Especially seeing the HCE Community is only comprised of a couple hundread remaining individuals...

ah yes the question everyone asks me; i actually have a few very, VERY good reasons for it, I just cant tell u the most important reason >.>
Its not me just being a mean person.

However once the SE version is fully finished, we may consider to release it to the public.

(Note that the SE version has big, gaping holes so to speak, public does not. Furthermore im exploring some different interior design methods.)

And kiwi there is always room for...flightless birds with...helmets...lol...

Also opsy, it sounds better if u say it in the opposite way :D
so ud say: an extended version of the original map complete with extras xP

...eheh....hehehehehe....
you really want to know...? :D

IG stands for: Intergalactic Morons
thats right! u read right, we have the most badass name and we are PROUD to use it!

WYS stands for Watch your step, a simple enough name thats appropiate seeing that the average lifespan of a player is 15 seconds on that map (averaged from 200 deaths with a stopwatch xD)

oh, and 'menolikey' about your earlier questions:
the BFS is not made by myself; my subordinate / slave named 'the server' assists me with most of the technicalities of the map. AKA I make it look pretty, he makes it work.
Anyway the map will have a dual purpose:
1) it will be an RP map for those who wish to do so
2) this map, if managed; will have a custom gametype that will probably overwrite CTF (CTF is very difficult in this map, both because of its size / corridors and actually surviving the run to and back to flags. Instead it will be like UT's assault gametype or TF2's CP gametype, or BF2's conquest gametype.) in other words the more u advance through the ship, the closer spawns you'll get towards the end of the ship, until the point that 1 team captures all points and wins.

Well Dhark the map looks great from what I can tell from that one picture, I am just worried about one thing you said "When we release it, the public version will be smaller and have less stuff thou". (You said this in the WIP thread if I remember correctly.)

I understand about the public version and such, but there is a problem. Why do two different versions? Why not let the public see what you have worked hard at in this map with the full shi-bang version? Two different will confuse a great many people so why not release the FULL version and not two versions. People will be confused and some will feel left out just because one version of the map is better if they are in the clan.

To me, I think it would just better overall for everybody if I think you just release a entire "shi-bang" version because you are making the map for the HCE community as a whole.

These are just my opinions and viewpoints on this though and I could be wrong.

:-/

No opinion is "wrong"...

Really, though, the whole "better version for IG members" thing seems a little...

...selfish. I do not intend to flame or insult, but this is what it seems like to me.

[POST]
I just wanted to say that I am really liking the way your capital ship project is coming. I can't imagine having a map that big in HCE to be honest. I can't wait until it is released. [Well I can but you know what I mean.]

I am just worried about what you said in a post: "When we release it, the public version will be smaller and have less stuff thou"

I read in your other thread that you were looking for people to join the team, so I understand about the public version and such, but there is a problem. Why do two different versions? Why not let the public see what you have worked hard at in this map with the full shi-bang version? Two different will confuse a great many people so why not release the FULL version and not two versions. People will be confused and some will feel left out just because one version of the map is better if they are in the clan.

It is just better overall for everybody if I think you just release a entire shi-bang version because you are making the map for the HCE community as a whole, otherwise you would not be doing all this.

Please answer my questions and don't flame my ass because I am just voicing my opinions. I run a Halo Machinima clan that is just getting off the ground and we have high ambitions to make good quality videos. The only way we can do that is to get good quality maps, not scaled down, half content "public versions" of maps. If I must join your clan so I can provide those maps to my clan then I will but I do not know the requirments needed to join. Please list those in your reply if you wish to.

Again these are just my opinions and concerns on this matter. I will like the map and eargerly await it's release.

[RESPONSE]
No i wouldnt flame u, thats not really my style xP. Also if i forgot to respond to a question or 2, lemme know

1) we are not a clan, merely a group of people that like to do a variety of halo assets than just focus on map making or pure machinima, this also gives us the advantage to make exactly what we want (make the map suit our machinima needs lets say.) This also allows us to change what we r doing so that we dont get bored / burnt out. To join the IG community has no impact on any other clan, cos it aint a clan lol. To join the IG team is a little more tricky, but again, not a clan, so dont wry bout that

2) (Censored! :D)

(this may be confusing since it referred to 2) a little)
3)smaller and less stuff = less laggy, less complicated
We are also making a special vehicle, but because of its size and interior style, its easy to get lost in the ship, and this vehicle is like 1/8 to 1/12 the BFS SE, and if its easy to get lost in the AHMF, imagine what a nightmare the BFS SE COULD be, this requires careful planning on my part and must not be rushed. patience is a virtue.

4) I may have exagerated when i said that its 'half content', its undoubtedly smaller, yes but that doesnt mean it wont have the essentials

5) Here is the key to your questions: WHY is the BFS so different from the BFS SE, (censored)
a)(censored)
b)(you guessed it! CENSORED!)
c)we want to be known in the halo community, so that means we got to do something, not just merely wait, although sometimes waiting just a little bit longer can make a difference, but in this situation however...
d) (censored)

[POST]
(censored)

It is nice to know that if I joined the IG community it would have no impact on any other clan. I am just wondering what would be required of me TO join if I wished to. For Example: Some clans require that you model models, map, etc.....

So is the BFS version just going to be like a public "beta"? If it is then therin lies another problem. [To me atleast] Being a beta tester for several maps, I know that when people look at and play a public beta map they will look for changes in the newer version of the map. [This is really only a problem if you are planning on releasing the BFS SE out into the HCE community.] (point censored). [Correct me on that if I am wrong.]

I actually did know that the BFS project had been going on for 1.5 years.....that is after you told me. :D

"c)(censored)." To that I agree but there have been exceptions to that in the past. Check out the map Siege. It was made by CrowPath. That had been the only map made by him that was released publically. Now go look at the map Church. Can you believe that the author is the same maker of Siege???? He spent two years on that project and blew us away with that map Church.

Nice length to your reply by the way, and I was pretty satisfied by the answers you have me especially since you didnt have to sacrifice to many sensitive points. Most people might have just brushed me off.

(censored) (god theres alot of stuff to 'censor' huh! its like a porn movie! j/kj/k xD)

Also, well what skills do u have in modding, modeling, textures, animations, etc / machinima? can u host and if so, how many people? laggy or not very laggy?

(OMG must censor this)

What i meant with the 3-6 months was that the BFS SE would take at LEAST 3-6 to be completed, depending on what happens regarding a few things is what will affect the release date.

Yea i thought I had mentioned the 1.5 years in the WIP thing, apparently yes I did lol

(Moar censors for the horde!! my god i mustve censored more than half this response, and no dont ask him for the censored stuff lol)

...Got an xfire?

Btw kiwi, u are correct to simply put it without a long winded explanation: our real name is IGM (intergalactic morons) before that we had set our name as intergalactic gimps, and before that we were...homicidal morons i think...cant remember, we only stayed with gimps for about a week before we transformed into IGM, but we liked to say IG and it really just stuck with us, so we stayed as IG, seeing that IM is like instant message as well, its easier not to confuse between the 2, its bad enuf having my buddy named as 'the server' when hes ingame in halo *gah lol*

well, its not just the actual shader its also the render plugin, vray was used and the texture was designed to be 'glass' but by combining (ill admit i was randomly doing this) the different options in vray's standard material, i managed to achieve a solid object that could reflect, just like a mirror (thats why its black on the far side) plus there are settings that vray has in its render options like how it renders global illumination and such.

And yea... vray isnt exactly uh...cheap >,<

Well, the interior is being textured, we are planning to release a beta just for the sake of it, might not have things like chairs and such.

Seeing as it's my birthday today, I may actually release a photo or 2 of SOME of the BFS, maybe if i feel nice enough, i may show the entire thing. depends on what my team thinks.

Anyone even want to see it...??
(note: if not many people r interested, i wont bother posting it)

I'm curious about it's polycount, implementing the progressive spawn points (like checkpoints?), and the possible use/need of/for bsp switching, campaign style. Thats a big ship. Awsome, too, I might add

...uh....what makes you think that kiwi??

PE's polycount is technically low, but with its super pretty modifier, it grew by about x4 verts, that modifier won't be used in halo i believe.

As for your questions regarding the inner workings of the new gametype, you would really need to ask 'the server'. He handles the bulk of the 'technical' stuff lol

It looks like a Hiigaaran Battle Crusier, Kiwi thinks. It's more of the thin design and the shape, probably. Haven't played Homeworld 2 in ages though.

EDIT: That and the name, IG-HW2-BC, HomeWorld 2 Battle Cruiser.

arrrr he got meh! MEEEDIIIIIIIIIC!

Yes, my primary inspiration for ship design comes from homeworld 1, a tiny bit of cataclysm (that weird expansion) and homeworld 2; to me it has been the most accurate and truthful way to look at war in space; of course its off in a few things the concept of hyperspace in HW2 might be a bit off as well but nontheless interesting. The shapes too I found very nice but more importantly: size and feeling! the only flaw would be that fighters were absolutely huge when compared to the texture of the cockpit.

So yea basically when it comes to space ships and such my reference is homeworld 2 while still maintaining my beliefs of design and how things function; e.g. hw2 doesnt have 'personal shields' and other things like that
