Ive been on this forum for a while now and I was wondering whether Halo maps have ever ran competitions?

I seem to remember one of the moderators saying they needed some items making a while back so perhaps a competition could be organized.

The scenery/item challenge could run for a specific period of time (say a month) and have a beginner / intermediate and pro category. In which you may enter yourself into one of theses category's and a winner would be chosen by forum vote at the end of this time from each section.

Perhaps no one cares but i thought id put it out there as an idea to add some quality work for people to download.

Any thoughts?

sounds awesome i think i will have a go but do u have any items you want us to make that you think will be useful for the halo community?maybe give some tips of what would be useful say for beginner or intermediate and advanced (what kind of scenery for those levels? how detailed and or low or high poly count?) things like that if you sore Dennises topic he had things that he would like to be made like a Christmas tree and presents and so on.

The only competition i know that happened was a halo movies one, quite a while back if i remember. Running a competition does take alot of effort to run, i don't think Dennis would want to host one. Plus he is going to be busy with the next season of halo ce chronicles, he was asking people to make tags for use with that.

There are competitions run by users from time to time though. None i have seen really take off though. A map competition takes alot of time, a map making competition should have a due date of a couple of months. Because of that it's really hard to keep people interested

Darn. And I had a story line all ready mapped out for it....

On a serious note: Animal scenery items would actually be great.
