Well started near the end of 2007 me and Massacre were fooling around just to shut out everyone in the Winter map contest. We decided to make this map called Snowcap Crevice. But then later we got really into this map and had our friend Donut (Who we thank for helping us get our early beta ingame.) help us out a bit. After we got our first beta we were excited because our long nights of working to get this map ready for the deadline paid off. I gave the map to our friend Dano (Commonly known as CMT's wonderful texture artist.) and he offered to texture the map with all new textures. With out a doubt I said, "Yes!" And he got to work on making the textures. There we knew we had to have some awsome shaders to go with the map, so we asked Lightning. He was glad to create the shaders and the map really started to come together. Now that Dano's sister had to shove things in his computer and made it "sick" the map has been on hold. But now I have begun working on it again and testing gameplay for the ultimate experience.

I think it would really cool if someone made a sky that resembled the Arch like in Halo 3. This map looks like it belongs on the Arch. Great Job though. You have my download For Sure.

could you possibly show some pics of an overhead view of the map? i saw them a while back but other people haven't seen them and we'd like to see a little more of what you've done to it and how it looks.

Shaders need to be totally fixed up but Lightning can't do anything until Dano gets back and fixes up some of the textures. And then all that can be fixed. Right now I'm making scenery for the finishing touches.

Work on your weapon placment on the base. As far as I can see it looks really bad. But you now as you said its only a beta. if you give my a over look of the map i can make a good weapon placment on the map for you. So far so good.

Man, are you kidding those cliff look godly. I've seen the map and the cliffs are some of the best I've seen around. They are massive canyon cliffs that tower above the ground. Not short small cliffs.

I think he just meant the uv's for the cliffs. they look bad. the actual modeling is great as you said.

Well Uv's are going to be fixed best as possible. Dane already redid them once. The thing is they are very hard to make seemless in 3ds because of the unwrapping it has. But thats the reason we have not played with shaders yet because we ahve to get the real textures and dane has to get his comp fixed. And the weapon placement has changed alot. I have moved almost everygun. The base weapon placements have been fixed. I am still tweaking them. And I've been working on scenery lately witht he help of some friends that truely adds detail and makes the map more life like. As of now the release sate could be anytime. That is not my worries. Right now is just to make an awsome map. Pictures will come soon.

Yeah, the bump maps are a little big...
And the cliffs themselves are flat. Or at least it looks like it...

anyhow this looks like its gonna be an awesome map. even though you guys are technically my opponents for the winter map contest im still really excited for this map. on the subject of that i think i may finally have the motivation to finish my map :0. but still, best of luck to you guys.

Well I'm making now scenery for the energy ropes. But was wondering how they are made. For the model would I use just a plane or a tube? And if it was a tube how many sides?

Its a cylinder with a shader, just apply C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Halo Custom Edition\tags\levels\test\gephyrophobia\shaders\geph_energy_rope.shader_transparent_chicago_extended as a shader
