Isn't it possible to export halo2 stuff (weps, maps, textures, models) and port it for use in HCE?? if so why hasn't it been done?? and if it has, I must be living under a rock.

People have ripped halo 2 models but i think that was from halo 2 xbox.

There isn't a ripper program like hek+ for halo 2, i don't think.

There are some ripped models on halomaps of halo 2 and 3 i think.

It is called ripping and yes it is possible.

Bitmaps can be ported from Halo 2 to anything if they can be put into Halo 2's .bitmap tag format.

Because its more fun for the people making the maps. And, before H2V, it was alot harder. Most of the maps are from earlier from that. Search Z_Sanctuary for an example of very good ripping.

It can open H2X and H1X maps, but can't do anything with them. It also might be able to open stubs the zombie maps, since it's an HMT based program.

As hard as it is, its a lot easier to learn to model the weapons than it is to rip. Secondly, when you learn how to model, its much more worth it.

We don't want to get Bungie mad at us before Halo 3 is even a year old. They don't care much for Halo 2 anymore (Ex: They're doing nothing about Halo 2 Vista). That's why CAD hasn't gotten in trouble to ripping pretty much everything. But now we're getting into legal talk, and Dennis can help you out with that.

Yea... Right.... H3 is one of MS's biggest moneymakers. Why wouldn't they take measures to stop that. Just think...
