"Negotiation with massive fire power"

Greetings all, i only just recently got Halo Custom Edition but i have been watching various videos on youtube for a while , and i was recommended to get this from SonicXtreme , so i decided i would try my hand at modding.

I play this online game called Rising Force Online , and i have always wondered what it would be like trying to transfere it to another engine seeing as its an RPG , so i decided i would try and port some stuff to Halo from it.

Heres some renders of some of the stuff i want to import

Some of the above are weapons , there is atleast 1 Powerfull weapon , and 2 Vehicles.

They are all from the original game , i just used a ripping program on the meshes and textures.

I asked Sonic about Mechs in Halo and he said that walking mechs could not be done , lucky for me , the BMAUs dont walk , they slide like they have wheels on their feet , so i dont have to animate their feet , Only thing that needs fixing on some of the models is UVW co ordinates.

The idea is to introduce new weapons , and vehicles to multiplayer to give a new experiance , so yea .....

Hopefully i will have some ingame screenshots soon , or plans for a level , as i am working hard with other stuff at the moment.

please make your own copy by the end by using those as referances.. some people in this comunity will flame you (and get in trouble for it) about using ripped models, although a good bunch of people dont realy care; but its still better to use your own models than worry that mb that company will try to sue you for ripping from their game.

That isnt fully true. you can make em walk, but you cant do it the way you'd want to. you have to animate it by linking the frames to wheels that spin to create the walking aperance...

Also.. some of those things look preaty high poly.. might wana reduce em abit.

Greetings to you Kirby , i read your reply , and i must admit , i am not exactly doing this for community praise , more for my own entertainment , so i really dont care if some people have issues with the content , i believe that its more about the gameplay than the content, as i have seen this debate in many threads.

As for the corperate side , i am sure like most fan projects that aslong as i dont take credit for anything Codemaster wont take actions. And finally , yes there are alot of high poly things , but yet again , i am doing this so that it can run on higher end computers rather than low end ones , as my computer can handle quite alot.

Thank you for the tips on animation , as i think they will come in handy in the future =D

Most people need to realize tha mapmaking isn't a competition, It's fun, it relieves stress, and it could be your first steps to becoming a game designer, although ripping models won't get you far in being friends with the higher mapmakers, model practice kills laziness and could get you somewhere in life ^_^

Lol... that's its way of saying YAR DOIGN IT RONG! :-)

but then again, the only level I really ever made was one following geodude's tutorial, so I cannot say I have had to deal with many errors...

yup, but to make the legs move, you gotta rig it up so that wheels control it. (same sort of way the train has those bars controling the wheels, but hte other way.)

Yes they will.

Also, Dennis, correct me if I am wrong, but isn't it also technically illegal if you reproduce the models yourself (AKA make ones resembling the original) and using it?

Yes you are wrong. First off copyright violations are not criminal offenses so there is no issue of legality. Copyright violations are civil offenses that are settled by lawsuits or agreements. It is perfectly legal to create a perfect facsimile of something that is copyrighted and use it, sell it or give it away. However you run the risk of a lawsuit for any damages incurred by your action from the owner of the copyrighted material. Meaning that you won't go to jail but you might lose your house and college fund.
