either u havent updated halo, your lagging like mad or u have router problems according to my experience, could also be a port issue (rather rare)

well i think it a port issue but i might not have updated it because it does it every time i try to connect since i reinstalled it.

to fix the port issue (which is incredibly unlikely) i just reinstalled halo

to update halo: go to whereever u installed halo ce, most likely: C:\program files\microsoft games\halo ce\ (correct me if im wrong, ive installed it elsewhere)
look for haloupdate.exe, run it, say yes to whatever it normally asks and your done

i reinstalled it, and updated it and still got nothing.

it says this when i hit get list"an error occurred trying to connect to gamespy master server."
could it be my firewall because its never given me this problem before

mmmm yes its most likely ur firewall; also i dont think axmen that halo MP uses gamespy xD, or that there isnt much of a choice other than gamespy.

There is a way around gamespy, however.

You can't not use Game Spy. You're not supposed to use Game Spy Arcade, which is filled with spy-ware and viruses and such. The error " Error occurred while contacting the Game Spy master server " most likely means that your internet is down and/or can't connect to it.

That, or your CD key is invalid, or you are using a non-legit version of Halo CE.
