Neat idea but situating the buttons directly under the rear lens would force me to decrease the vertical scale of display which is why I went for this instead:

looks really nice, but some parts leak throught the model even the right hand in the fire animation, you rlly should fix that.

That looks really good.
Have you considered releasing a proper plasma launcher tag?
I might have some tags that Bobble made a long time ago. Don't think I ever released them because I couldn't get the animation to work properly.

Well, i dont think so because i'm not that good creating animations from scratch.
But if you want these animations that i made, i'll release them in my graphical mod in some days, so you can just rip 'em from there :3

I could never get the charge animation to play with the charge effect and that's a big reason why it was never released.
I don't know if I have the tags on a hard drive anywhere, but if you're willing to give this a shot I could try and search for them to get them to you.

I'm thinking about just going full MBUS.



But I really don't want to end up compromising the texel ratio of the uv's just so I can accommodate the front and rear sight. I also don't want to end up with a 10k tris gun w/a 6k tris sight.

Which is sort of why I want to go with pistol peripherals:



But this would make it far too uncomfortable for the operator.

Maybe I could try rear diopter? But I'm not too sure how it would tie into the weapon as a whole. I want something which looks unique, usable & also damme cool.

Try going with open sights akin to the ak series. The gun looks like it was made for only a simple foward and rear post rather than an intricate raised sight.

I think that diopter idea could be pretty cool, and might be able to be done low poly. I can give it a shot later after finals are all said and done, if you'd like.

I also have ideas for other optic type things, I'll take a look through what I have already and see what I come up with.

His mod is a .map replacement for Bloodgulch that's supposed to be compatible with joining any old Bloodgulch server. He can't really do things like change weapon functions.

I remember how halo trial mods did stuff like making the flamethrower the brute shot. was some cool stuff.


But yeah seriously, Brute shot instead of FRG would work interestingly.

Some issues that might ruin the player's experience:
-3P animations, they would be so diferent from the original ones, changing the hitboxes of the players when they pick this weapon.
-It's projectiles aren't noticeable enough
-The frg is a heat based weapon.

I guess i could try, but i don't think is worth the effort.

You could always keep it as it is now and just change the particles from green to blue

I think he meant the brute shot thing. I only said it as a sort of "wow that sounds cool" not as a "go do it" sort of thing. Don't stress yourself over it Kinnet.

25K Tris so far. 85% done with the lowpoly + unwrap + baking.




I believe the main rifle will require a re-bake due to the bruising you may be able to observe. Ugh I see another 6 hours of rendering in the future. yay me.

10 separate UV sheets / 20 textures (AO+NML = 1 uv sheet) / 24k tris approx. / Baked using 3dsmax 2014's tangent space algorithm.

Is that the H1 pistol? If so I like it as the streamlined silhouette reads differently than most remodels of the pistol which emphasize the vertical elements of it. Looks nice aside from some of the curved areas which could probably be reworked a bit. I'm excited to see some animations on this one.
