That looks really good.
Have you considered releasing a proper plasma launcher tag?
I might have some tags that Bobble made a long time ago. Don't think I ever released them because I couldn't get the animation to work properly.

A proper plasma launcher tag? do you mean the animations right?
Well, i dont think so because i'm not that good creating animations from scratch.
But if you want these animations that i made, i'll release them in my graphical mod in some days, so you can just rip 'em from there :3

Something like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xEsX176IeSc
I could never get the charge animation to play with the charge effect and that's a big reason why it was never released.
I don't know if I have the tags on a hard drive anywhere, but if you're willing to give this a shot I could try and search for them to get them to you.

HM-53 PDW

This a little side project me and Skidbro have been working on when I've either gotten to exhausted to work on other projects or while I'm waiting for feedback on other projects. More info to come....

I would actually be grateful for any iron sight ideas, any suggestions other than "peephole" would be much obliged.

What about an open V sight? Or a double post like on a hand gun? Though, that might be a bit strange for a PDW.

I'm thinking about just going full MBUS.

But I really don't want to end up compromising the texel ratio of the uv's just so I can accommodate the front and rear sight. I also don't want to end up with a 10k tris gun w/a 6k tris sight.

Which is sort of why I want to go with pistol peripherals:

But this would make it far too uncomfortable for the operator.

Maybe I could try rear diopter? But I'm not too sure how it would tie into the weapon as a whole. I want something which looks unique, usable & also damme cool.

Edit > Do you think the keymod holes need to be deeper?

Try going with open sights akin to the ak series. The gun looks like it was made for only a simple foward and rear post rather than an intricate raised sight.

I think that diopter idea could be pretty cool, and might be able to be done low poly. I can give it a shot later after finals are all said and done, if you'd like.

I also have ideas for other optic type things, I'll take a look through what I have already and see what I come up with.

Make it proper. Plasma Launcher functions very different then just a fuel rod clone. Brute shot anyone.

His mod is a .map replacement for Bloodgulch that's supposed to be compatible with joining any old Bloodgulch server. He can't really do things like change weapon functions.

Brute Shot isn't a bad replacement for FRG though.

I remember how halo trial mods did stuff like making the flamethrower the brute shot. was some cool stuff.

But yeah seriously, Brute shot instead of FRG would work interestingly.

Some issues that might ruin the player's experience:
-3P animations, they would be so diferent from the original ones, changing the hitboxes of the players when they pick this weapon.
-It's projectiles aren't noticeable enough
-The frg is a heat based weapon.

I guess i could try, but i don't think is worth the effort.

You could always keep it as it is now and just change the particles from green to blue

I think he meant the brute shot thing. I only said it as a sort of "wow that sounds cool" not as a "go do it" sort of thing. Don't stress yourself over it Kinnet.

25K Tris so far. 85% done with the lowpoly + unwrap + baking.

I believe the main rifle will require a re-bake due to the bruising you may be able to observe. Ugh I see another 6 hours of rendering in the future. yay me.

10 separate UV sheets / 20 textures (AO+NML = 1 uv sheet) / 24k tris approx. / Baked using 3dsmax 2014's tangent space algorithm.

Is that the H1 pistol? If so I like it as the streamlined silhouette reads differently than most remodels of the pistol which emphasize the vertical elements of it. Looks nice aside from some of the curved areas which could probably be reworked a bit. I'm excited to see some animations on this one.

Elude is more escape, so either technically works, but allude would seem to fit better, syntactically.

And is nobody gonna touch the brakes?

FAMAS rifle

pea shooter
5.56 is fine.

I have my own personal misgivings with 5.56 rounds but the famas sucks for a whole load of other reasons.

Mainly:

. Unsafe to modify the chambers due to the low quality of parts. Over pressure btw is startlingly common and operators are actually told to expect minor injuries.

. Incompatible with heavier grain 5.56 catridges.

. Doesn't accept m4/m16 STANAG magazines. (F1)

. Fire selector is totally weird. The AUG has something similar to it but it operates in a way which feels much more fluid.

. Pretty choppy workmanship, I actually got to hold an ancient demilled F1 which completely fell apart when I was shown how it was operated. (F1 version)

. 25 round magazines...I'll say no more.

Oh and if you think that I'm just biased and racist the french themselves have held off producing large orders of the FAMAS.

I wouldn't surprised if parts are or have been discontinued already due to the fact that most nations are looking to and investing in the HK416,ARX160 & the FN Scar series of rifle.

Which ironically enough can be considered less ergonomic due the lack of bullpuppiness all 3 share against the F1/G1/G2.

Being 5.56 operable in it's self doesn't help matters either, especially when you consider that the grain count is less than what is used in the m4/m16.

Put all that together and you have far lethaler rain drops out there than what you'll be spouting out of a barrel.

Secretly I wish that 5.56 was completely disbanded and replaced by 6.8APC.

This is a little side project which me & Skidbabe started specifically to combat boredom whilst developing the MAWP.

Unfortunately like all little side projects it never fully reached fruition...

Until now.

(Yes these are basically the "centurion arms" iron sights featured on the HK416 but future tech combined with old furniture is never a bad thing, that and I suck at making MBUS's.)

I can't really see any glaring flaws with the weapon itself, but you're probably not going to get anything out of an airbursting 5.7mm round (assuming such systems could fit into a bullet that small,) and effective range would probably be closer to 200m tops, rather than 330m.

Stat-nitpicking aside, looks pretty good.
