Fear, anything from the end to the golden part of the model onward (the gray) isn't long enough and sucks.

I don't if it would look better but try extending the scope out from underneath that scope cover thing in the front. It might make it look better.

It's starting to look like that gun in Timesplitters: Future Perfect. The one that can shoot through walls, and annoys me so.

@disaster:
I was thinking, instead of having that ornamental gold piece be complex like you have it now, why not make a double-sided plane and slap a bitmap that has an alpha channel on it. It would save a few polys.

i quite like the handle for ur 'BR varient' (until u have a name for it)
the hole might need to be larger, or make the area around it thinner so itd be easier to hold (?)
Also i dont like the area where the person's left hand goes, i think it should be changed from the BR's to something else? i quite like the zoom thou and the metal plate covering it, althou that plate could use a bit of loving or something too

I'm liking this rifle's style. Now, if you were to somehow work in ridges for attachments, You win life. I think it would be cool to have a shotgun attachment on the bottom grip. One thing I recommend changing is the hole where the thumb would go in to wrap around the handle. Its to circular, and that doesn't really fit.

it's only thick in the back, where you're not holding it. The grip was taken directly from the pistol, and no modifications were made to its thickness.

I don't like it either. I was thinking of putting something like...

yeah that sounds good.

I'll try something else, but I had it in a more boxy design before, and I didn't think that fit real well.

Update on my AK-47. The background image was a reference for the back handle.

I made the base of the waepon from picture 2 and made the back handle from image 1. Call of Duty 4 showed the handle.

I've not even smoothed anything yet so.. The middle section is not off. I can bet you a lot of money. But I do see where you think it needs more height in the stock.

i really like the metal plate over the scope as it was before imo; now with it sticking out, the angle now looks a bit conflicted as before the bottom and the top 'sloped' in; now not so much. Just my opinion

deagle is a big scary pistol that hurts more than most other pistols, in CS:S it is essentially a BOOOM stick, not easily surpassed by smgs or rifles (its a pistol)

I'm not sure if I'm the only one who can see this but the barrel looks a bit weird. It looks more like a pole with three extruded sections, and less like a hollow barrel with an interior model. I suggest redoing that part of the rifle - everything else looks fine to me (though you could add bolts and screws at the corners of the scope protector and smoothen out the handle of the gun where the thumb goes into.)

Change the Barrel to be more dangerous looking. Other than that, great job. Very custom.

Im a new born to plane modelling and I just started this model today. Before anyone says it, yes I know its the background picture from Moddb's tutorial, but I only followed the video for 30 mins to understand what plane modelling was, and then I did 80% of the current model without the video's aid (I've only seen the first episode where he starts modelling, so you know that much of this is my own creation).

I am probably going to use this Beretta in a future mod, but at the moment, I'm just using it for practice. Lucky for me, I have an actualy Beretta in real life (it is a gas-powered, metallic pellet gun) so I can use it for reference also. Anyway please tell me if I am doing anything wrong at the moment so I could learn from my mistakes. By the way, I don't have a GMax renderer yet, but at least I am plane modelling in GMax, and if you have done it you would know it's like 10 times longer than using 3DS Max :P

Here goes...

That looks horrible. I'm sorry. It is probably because of gmax. But my first try of plane modeling was my AK-47
