That looks horrible. I'm sorry. It is probably because of gmax. But my first try of plane modeling was my AK-47

Tell me what's horrible about it so that I can improve it (except the areas which are unfinished). Anyway I'm getting 3DS Max today or tomorrow so I will just import it into 3DS and continue from there.

EDIT: Also, does anyone know where I can find a renderer for GMax? I've searched the site, forums and google and haven't found any decent matches. Would really be appreciated.

K good. It is probably the screen shot. Rendering would be much better. And does this help?

Yeah that's exactly what I needed, thanks.
I will post a render of my next update. Hopefully by then I would have done the main body of the gun and magazin, so all I will need to finish is the top part.

sorry but your AK-47 looks yuck!before telling him his bad fix your AK-47!i know it was your first try and u will!! get better but don't give crit that u haven't perfected!i think his pistol looks awesome the only things that are wrong is that you don't have enough shape on your handle and trigger if you can do that it will look much better.

yeah thats what I was thinking yesterday too - just after posting my pics I gave the trigger guard more variation on the X Axis (thickness) according to my real beretta. You'll see it soon when I next update it.

@Newbkilla
Im getting 3DS Max 8 - heard that's the best one with the most useful features for exporting.

EDIT: Lol I got this funny PM, which I hardly find as constructive criticism, but good for laughs. Enjoy:
Quote: ---PM from CLS Grunt---
you fail at modeling, hard.
furthermore learn to follow tuts becuase so far it looks like a blob of disjointed polygons.

I'm still trying to find out if there is a hidden message of constructive criticism here, or if it is just blabber because of a joke I said about him earlier :P

Hey you know what? First try modeling with planes and I don't think it looks half bad. It isn't even finished yet. Just wondering... What made it look "Yuck"?

That's because I started modeling another type of AK-47 and realized that was out of date and just continued on and made the modern day handle in the back. I might redo the whole gun. Either way, it was good practice.

That actually doesn't look half bad. You have no clue what your talking about. Your AK is horrid with extrusions. Before you post make sure you know what your talking about.

Um excuse me? Thanks for flaming. Unless you count moving vertices's around as extruding, then you have no idea what the hell you are talking about.

Rofl. Look at your model. Theres so many extrusions its not funny. Just because you didn't touch the extrusion tool doesn't mean its not extruded. When somethings extruded its
1. to thrust out; force or press out; expel: to extrude molten rock.
2. to form (metal, plastic, etc.) with a desired cross section by forcing it through a die.
–verb (used without object)
3. to protrude.
4. to be extruded: This metal extrudes easily.
And most of everything on your model is extruded.

Just because you didn't use the polygon mode doesnt mean you extruded. YOU CAN STILL EXTRUDE AND NOT EVEN TOUCH POLYGON MODE.

umm^ see extrusions in red. Thats half your model.

4 of the things you boxed in are details. And the tip of the gun (Not really) was moved edges. *MOVED* Are you saying I cant use the cut tool? And that is no where near half my model.

No you didn't even follow your references right. You can use the cut tool if you know how to use it properly.

I never said not to extrude. I just said they look bad on his model. It all depends on the way he used them. He used them in such a way it doesn't even match his references.

First you went at him because you thought he didn't plane model it, or did you think you couldnt extrude when you plane model? Now your saying that the extrusions look bad?

you mustve became a crack addict whilst you were on leave

If you extrude correctly and the model looks "GOOD", then there is nothing wrong with it.

Don't tell people HOW to model. I extrude faces a lot, you going to tell me to stop? If so then tell me another good way to model, "Mr. Almighty Modeller."

Also:

The grip is going to be hard :( Lol.

wireframe plz.

rofl. Disaster started a disastrous conversation because he MIS-READ. I said it looked horrible cause it wasn't rendered...

And I am DYING of Laughter because HE is following a TUTORIAL. And I was doing this on MY OWN. Fricking grow up kid. Take a look at the gun. You'll change your mind.
And do you guys flame Hazard for hes odd way of modeling. No.. But you do for me.
And did I mention that was my first plane modeled gun? You guys probably don't care.
