Is it possible to get tags from halo 3 from my xbox 360? even if sapien wouldn't open them, i'd still like the meshes (i could convert the bsp/gbx models into a .obj file)

Halo 3 Retail is heavily protected. They dont even use GBX Models. Sapien has nothing to do with Halo 3. And to get the meshes, you would have to do some heavy work to get them, along with textures.

1: Only people that research know how to extract meshes and textures from Halo 3.
It would take a master of ripz to extract animations and other stuff (e.g. CAD)

Don't give CAD all of the credit, he makes the programs. CV gives him the research and assists cad.

Well i have a theory. These games are built on the Build Machines. Computers.

Therefore, in no way saying its easy, it must be possible to somehow achieve the reading of this disc's information on a PC as an Xbox would. Then you could do with it what you would.

Except i am relatively sure that violates between two and five copyrights...

The "information" is in different file formats, most are hidden and kept within other files of unknown formats.

Of course. I didn't say it would be easy or simple. The file types are likely archived very odd, in akward file types, possibly even encrypted information. I am sure that the information would be strings of crazy characters in Notepad. Thats what you get when you try to open a RTF document in notepad...

If you got the programs, though...

metacodes just locate the items. You need hand written programs to actually extract them.
