Hi all!
I was thinking to the work h3mt is making, and i remembered i saw an image in a topic of this forum where there was an image of a hud very similar to real h3 hud, maybe posted from HDoan...
So, can u help me to find that picture?
I would like to see it ..
Thanks in advance

Bye guys!

This, I believe, is the latest version of the HUD. Hopefully he'll fix the numbers and stuff, I'll talk to him later now that I have internet back on my Halo+Xfire computer.

Edit: You probably saw the image here:

Doan also states the HUD is old and he's working on a new one.

There is no posted version of the new HUD, and I doubt HDoan even has it in-game.

more halo 3 nade icons would be nice, little fix for the number, and it's done, even the elite shield bar is done correctly, though i like the halo 3 beta hud more, you know the bolded one like as if it was in a helmet

but i've seen more people make halo 3 huds, the biggest problem they get is that they havn't got ammo meters that go with it, that's what h3mt has done correctly

i just went through my files, and halo 2 still has health bars, whats up with halo 3 not having them? would be nice to know when to run to that health pack when there are some blues riding around in a warthog or be confident that you can run to the rocket launcher the opposite side assuming you can take some damage =P

In Halo 3, you would have more shield, and the health would deplete along with the shields. And when recharging, both the health and shield recharge. But it recharges slower.

Either that or there is no health variable at all.

nice BR, yea like the ammo counter and grenade part, sorta like ghost recon idea, visor outline just obscures more of the sight, even though it's translucent
-do i spot a health bar?

I believe donut gave h3mt his outline. which would probably be the same one we are discussing.

no thats not mine. ill get mine. hold on....
ok back. this is it here:

LISTEN CLOSELY.
this is how you will use this ingame. first off, leave the resolution alone. that resolution is 2/3 of 640x480 which is 480x360. the actual res is 482x362 for the blue border for it to be a sprite.
NOW:
1. open in photo editing program, save as .tiff
2. select all of the image, and copy it
3. add alpha channel
4. paste the copied image
5. save alpha channel

to put ingame:
1. run bitmaps on it
2. open the bitmap tag. set it to 32-bit sprite. if the image is not set to be a sprite, when you turn down the texture quality, the visor will get all fuzzy. thats what happens alot with custom reticles.
3. re run bitmaps to save changes.

to apply to an character hud:
1. open hud you wish to add this visor to (i am refering to .unit_hud_interface tags)
2. under the Unit hud background block (very top) reference the visor bitmap
3. VERY IMPORTANT: set width and height scale to 1.33333, and set x and y offset both to -8
4. save, and compile a test map. make sure the player biped references the unit hud interface tag you just edited

dont say i never gave you guys anything

Even better. When are y'all going to start showing off your work again? I'm curious to see what happened to the AR, Needler, and BR.

Doan told me you put it into the weapon hud interface so that it doesnt show up in a vehicle

that is correct, but when you start off unarmed it won't show up either plus you need to put it for all the weapons, thus why overlay is also acceptable, that's why it's called overlay =P
it's just what you prefer, putting it in for all the weapons just takes some more time but can be done aswell

oh and the offset needs to be -8.3 for both

Or you could just make a new weapon hud interface, insert the visor into the static outlines. Then in the master.weapon hud interface, add the visor.weapon hud interface into the child hud.

I have used his visor before a while back and did what he said. You just did something way wrong or messed with something.

skipping bitmap with non-power-of-two dimensions (#480x#360#1)

that's what it says when i duplicate the layer, and paste it as alpha channel, i don't know what to do with it now, if i just save it how it is originally it's also just opaque

The top scroll bar should be set to "Sprite"

i did set it to sprite, i just looked into the thing power of two, means square so i did that and now it's too narrow in width, stupid tool with power of two restriction...

so i'm gonna use this one, looks good but the shield bar is also already on it

i'll make the shield bar background and content seperate object, then we'll have a fitting outline with shield bar

D: No no no no, NOOOOOO! Those are from the H3T days, made by FRain before he was good. They hurt my eyes and you shouldn't use them. I'll make a video with mine later, once IVEE puts them in-game (he wanted to, stfu. I'll learn myself this 4 day weekend).
