I don't know why, but when I came online on Halo CE this afternoon (around 16:45 +1 GMT), I noticed so few people were on... I also saw at the today's notice that I had to download the latest update, so I tried to do that: haloce108 patch.
When I tried to update, it said that my game was already version 108...
I also tried to update using the haloupdate.exe in the Hale CE folder, this one said I was up-to-date.
Still, the game says I need to update it. I don't know what to do!! Please, can anyone help me?!?!

Best regards,
Ghosty

PS: sorry for bad English if there

You must be new, or not have a lot of maps. Even if you do, there's only gonna be around 80 -100 ppl on per day. You could play 1.00ce, because there is 800 people on that version.

Because of illegal activites which force them to stay on 1.00.

Is it illegal to download v1.00? or against the rules on halomaps even if you have bought the game and have a legit CD key you purchased with the game?

It's not illegal. All you have to do is reinstall Halo Custom Edition, and not install the 1.08 update.

That one is a violation of the copyright and licensing. A new install of the Halo CE game will require you to download the update once you connect to the internet. Any other copy that does not require you to download the update is hacked and is in violation of the copyright and licensing and discussion of them or where to get them is not allowed in these forums.

that being the case, why do you allow UIs that skip the checking for update screen?
or do those UIs just remove the screen that says checking for updates?

The UI's that bypass the check should have been removed. If I missed one please point it out.

Actually... Most of the UIs on Halomaps skip the screen. Especially the best and most popular ones. CMT's, that Yoyorast Island UI, the Endurance UI, the D40 UI (I believe), and a bunch of others which I never downloaded. I would say 90% of all the UIs here skip the screen.

If the update does not pop up, make sure your firewall isn't blocking it.

OK, thanks for all your comments, I'll reinstall Halo CE now, lets hope it works^.^
And while I am pretty new here, I downloaded 41 cool maps such as coldsnap, hugeass, zanzibar. Still looking for more awesome maps ;)

Get some CMT Maps. I love the gameplay, but the layout for Tesity is kinda eh, only because when I go through the teleports, I jump and end up falling off the edge x_X

I don't think that Halomaps can really stop you from getting v1.00 at all. not EVERY person is linked to halomaps. I also don't think that they have any way of knowing whether you bought the game or downloaded it (don't rip off Bungie, buy the game its only about 20 bucks).

Why does everyone think of Halomaps being the only site? Gearbox/Microsoft will be able to suspend you from the Gamespy Master Server List if you are caught using a version below the 1.08, then that's it.
