Hi I just got halo 2 for vista. Good game However I have a few questions about online play:
1, Somtimmes when im fighting someone I freeze and cant move and get killed. The other person does somthing to me so they can kill me easy. What is it and how do I stop it. 2, Some players I can put 2 whole clips into them and they don't die and yet I can take 3 shots and die. Why is this? Thanks |

It's your internet connection. Either your lagging or the server is. What ISP do you have?

halo 2 vista became trash for many players after the gamesforwindowslive updated my screen freeze for a sec every time some joins the game. and not is not my pc nor my power supply nor my isp this is the only game i have this issue with, gears pc and call of duty 4 run fine

Vista is such a resource hog that it decreases the games performance. I'm above all the requirements for the game and halo 2 still runs like crap, even on low detail. |

And Greenfuzz how exactly do you set the low detail? My version of H2V only allows for Anti aliasing, and Resolution changes, which don't change the details at all... |

I find that by disabling vista's sidebar help to save much of my cpu too

I run H2V on Winodws 7 and its just fine. Atleast offline... I use a satellite connection so it laggs like hell. Pings up to 1200.

I'm not flaming, so don't take it like so :) Ok. One, were discussing H2V, not HCE. Two, HCE's requirements aren't that high at all, so of course your going to get good performance on Vista. Three, your computer freezes every 2 weeks, maybe Vistas fault :p. My specs aren't anywhere close to run Halo 2 lag free, if it wasn't for Vista, I'd be getting a better framerate. Specs OS: Windows Vista Home Premium Processer: AMD Anthon x64 dual core 2.8 Ghz GPU: Nvidia Geforce 6150 SE nforce 430 256 mb RAM:1.75-2 gigs Edited by Greenfuzz on Jul 18, 2009 at 02:21 AM |
