green screen with a a little more features avalible than the free blue screen one, the trailer will be out in a few weeks, just need to get some dialogue from slashrat and his friend and some montage. There are several maps being custom talored for the series with may or may not be released depending on the wim of the mappers, just cross your fingers. We still need actors so contact me at hailstorm2991 on xfire or hailstorm2991@yahoo.com on msn if your interested.

first i need your xfire, unless i already have it, then tell me what it is so i can recognize you

On another hand, The trailer is uploaded and awaiting to be posted on the site, give it 1-2 weeks. Dennis has a hard job, and i belive we just missed yesterday's evaluation of everything in the ftp window. As slashrat said when he somehow missed the New Dust to Dust thread, Thanks to everyone who helped, and if you couldn't get in before the trailer release there are 28 more episodes to go for you to join the band wagon.
we need both voice actors and in-game actors, along with anyone who thinks they can bring something new to the table. again my msn is

hailstorm2991@yahoo.com <-- this is also my email and my xfire is
hailstorm2991

If you are interested please put that as your subject so i know why some random guy in messageing or emailing me.

Sorry, but I just have to laugh here. I did get the trailer uploaded. Then I realized that it was a messed up version. So Dennis kindly deleted it for me. I fixed the audio, then attempted to reupload it, this time on my dialup. Suffice it to say, it was a mess. I'll wait until I can get back to my friend's broadband before uploading it again. :)

Wth...

I thought you were on vacation. *reads last post* You still are. I didn't know you knew this forum existed. Man, that sounded weird. Anyway, I went to your house again today, even though you weren't there. The trailer is officially, as of this moment, uploaded. Now to await the final uploading to the site.

I have to say- I never expected to see you here, oh skeptical one. Who are you and what have you done with Tinman? Lol.

Oh, and by the way- welcome to halomaps. :)

well it was, right now we are just playing the waiting game till it appears on the site. Its has been taken off the ftp window so we will just have to wait until Dennis has the time to evaluate everthing that was in the winodw, it was pretty full.

*UPDATE*

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MaBEIDdqc3I
---
This is the trailer for Dust to Dust, a new machinima series which is already fully scripted to 28 episodes. Filming of the actual series will hopefully start soon. Ashes to Ashes is a group created to make all the needed sets ingame, as well as film the episodes.
I, Siliconmaster482, am the primary writer and editor. [EJ]Hailstorm is the co-creator and Ice Dragon is the primary map maker. Tabasco, Ekarus, Teekup, and Ne><us are other map-makers and contribute in many and helpful ways. If I forgot anyone, I'm sorry. Enjoy.
---

All coments welcome, just make sure they are well constructed, and useful to the improvement of the series.

Wow... Of all the times not to check this forum. Lawl. I'm back. @Everyone: Thanks for the support.

@Bacon: Thanks for the help. I do want to point out a few things. First of all, if you can duplicate the shots for that exact amount of time, that would be awesome. It needs to be timed for the actual scene. :P Also, that background is only a placeholder, so doing it on a greenscreen would be really nice. As for the video size, the posted video is horrendous quality. The real one, which might or might not show up on halomovies is 800 by 600. I rendered the fleet scene at 1600 by 1200. I like quality. So does the greenscreen software. Therefore be careful about using the greenish-blue enerygy things on the dropships. They might not show up. Thanks.

Lol. First of all Bacon, nice job on the dropship. The reflections are nice. Not overly detailed, but therefore good. The reason we want the file to have a greenscreen background is that we don't have the level yet. Ice will have to build that by the time we get to episode 11. Also, with a green background, we don't have to know what we want yet. We can use anything. Also, it's easier to distort the truth with a greenscreen shot. The camera is 10 feet above the waves in the trailer. The waves are actually relatively small. However, in the trailer, bcause of the perspective distortion, you think the ships are far below near the "real" waves. Please leave it a green background. In fact, if you can make the scene, we can just use the max scene and do it ourselves. Saves you the trouble. :P

I emailed you the script, Bacon. I'm not exactly sure what you mean by "making a movie" between seasons. As for me, I was just busy with school work and such. Hadn't checked here in a while.

The series is still quite alive and functioning. A covie engine room map has recently been designed and created, which Ice has made very true to covenant architecture. Currently he is once again working on the city sets needed for the first episode. At this point all our sets are custom, but that will probably expand to include pre-made maps. IceDragon just seems to be a bit of a perfectionist. If it doesn't fit our purposes exactly, he remakes it from scratch. Lol. Hence the semi-long delays. Anyway, we hope to begin at least voice recording soon. Here's a screenshot in sapien of the current engine room. Kudos to Ice for the hard work.

Wow i havent seen that picture yet... Yes just keep checking this topic for updates, even when no new posts have been made, because i may use the edit function to avoid double posting, on account i dont want this topic locked. I think im going to collect a few of the sets that are being custom made for the series, just dont let me forget =P

Hey its understandable... Beisdes your the one who mispells stuff on xfire!

Back on topic, as i type I am trying to put in my head to remember to add your name to the list when I'm done typeing this. And I hope you are glad to hear slashrat's parents are supposed to call their local highspeed IP today, which should if they follow through with it make it much easier to transfer files between the masses, taking the editing work off of him and making him more able to distribute maps.

Editing "work"? That's the best part. :)

I'm definitely considering allowing others to film now that the internet problem is fixed, but there's one thing I will not stand for: sloppy camera work. The jumps habitually caused by using a mouse for panning drives me insane. I spent 3 hours getting my joystick to work with halo just so I could do fluid pans while filming. Therefore, if anyone else acts as cameraman, I will be watching you... Or at least the footage. :) Don't mind me. I'm just as picky about filming as Ice is with his maps.

I didint mean camera man, but nexus wants to be one. I meant all the stuff that you couldn't normaly let other do becasue of the long file transfer times.

on another hand,
