Okay I've been working on trying to customize the brute by rigging his geometry to the MC's bones and I was following a tut heres what I did to explain:

Fit geometry to bones as best as possible
Then turn mesh to editable, go under modifier click skin
click edit envelopes,add bones but not any markers
"tut says if done correctly moving the bones the model should move accordingly"
This is my first pic and what it does when you move the bones.

You should be fitting the bones to the Mesh not the other way around. In the first pic you don't have the bones properly skinned, it looks as though the hand has not been skinned to the hand bones at all...

hey what do u mean Im okay with modeling but this is a new step so Im trying to learn could u go into more detail if u dont mine??

When I say to fit your bones, I mean to use the Scale tool to make the bones fit your biped.


Since you are rigging a brute...
When importing the bones and the markers,
Under 'Node Radius' you should put between 8 to 10 because of how much mesh it has.

And lastly, my tutorial was meant for rigging bipeds more the size of Masterchief.
Brutes are far from the size of Masterchief.

You may want to use the bones from the brute that CMT rigged.

Doesn't that share the same rig as a Marine?

If you want custom animations, you should rig it to custom bones.
