It doesnt need a grip. And the way your holding the gun, at least what I think, the reloading wont work right.

It's cool you should put back the clip then shake it then put it back in and, click a button. Then you reload like that!

Doesn't really feel shotgun-ish.

Probably a bad idea, but something like a reverse energy sword? Handle near the front, curved part with needle-like projectiles sticking out of it, extends back above and below the arm, but extensions pop forward when firing, like a bow-and-arrow.

So when do we first remove the clip? The cartridges are expendable, but they don't disappear.

It's creative but extremley lacking in detail and modeling in the overall mesh. Considering it is covy, it should have more roundish features to it, rather then have box's for its clip and just inset ed looking grips. I know were you got the round thing from, the beam rifle, but to be honest, I would completely redo it and try to make it look better.

Covenant technology is far superior to human technology. I'm sure they would have found a way around having to use any kind of manual pump if they had a shotgun.

Those ring/handle things on the side look horrible, and the flap at the end don't fit. There's some nonplanars on the bottom right by the pump and also near the clip. You should make the top edge more of a semi-circle shape, instead of what it is now, because it doesn't look very Covenant.

Anything with shotgun isn't primarily Covenant. The only reason why the mauler made sense was because it was old Brute tech.

Uhhh, I don't know if you're proving my point or trying to prove why y'all are making a custom Covy shotgun that looks remotely covenant. The Mauler IS NOT Covenant. It's Brute and was made before the Covenant came along.

You bake them in 3ds Max.
Search it on google for tutorials.

Yeah, but high poly stuff is a real system-eater. Bump maps and all that fancy stuff are there to improve performance.

Also, Googled 3DS Fake Bumps, didn't get any hits..

How to bake bumps:

First get the normal maps and diffuse printed out onto a sheet of paper.
Then lay them on top of each other.
Next add some spice, flame chili would work.
Now pour some spam on it.
Then place it in an oven.
Now bake them on high at 360 degrees.
Leave them in for about 20 minutes.
Now watch as the bumps rise as they bake.

WARNING: CONTENT MAY BE FLAMING HOT, AND A FIRE MAY OCCUR

Not trying to be rude, but the sniper's skin is pretty ugly, and the unwrap on the sides isn't very good either.
