I got some good news and might not be so good news:

Let's start with the might not be so good news:

As most of you heard from one of the Zelda map maker who is non other than Cellista himself had announced that he is stopping the Ocarina of Time map project for Halo Custom Edition since a lot of people had complained that the map is huge and not enough hi-res graphical designs on it. So sorry if we let our Ocarina of Time fans down.


And now for the good news:

If you look at this video right here:http://www.xfire.com/video/e1c4c/ This is a video of our current project at the moment which Cellista and his team are working on. Yes that's right, we are starting on a Twilight Princess project which then there will be a Twilight Princess multiplayer map for Halo Custom Edition. It's going to be same as the Hyrule Field Ocarina of Time map, but it wont have all the places in one map like the Ocarina of Time map. But although it's going to have Twilight Princess features on it such as the Twilight Princess Link as playable character and other weapons going to be added too with a lot of great other features which is soon to be released when it's time for some updates.


So we are hoping now that you can enjoy this new project we are working on, stay tune for more updates. If you wanna help us, feel free to post or show us your skills of map making on Zelda.

Shouldn't the horse's leg break after it does a complete cart wheel over sand and then magically spins it self back up?

Fix the fp animations, your head shouldnt be below your shoulders. And send me the bitmaps so I can make it have color changing.

What? Someone complained about the land of hyrule's size? But ppl play that map everyday, and everyone I talk to is waiting for the new update. The size isn't that big of a deal, nobody ever seems to have trouble finding and killing each other. Wasn't the new update close to done anyways? Can't you guys just release what you have? The bows and the lengthened hookshot would be awesome, as well as anything else you guys added. The TP project sounds cool, but the one everyone is waiting for is the oot update.

In the video the hourse does like a complete roll over 2 times

who cares if it is too big? who cares if the graphics aren't hi-res? the map was turning out great and some people's opinions shouldn't change your thoughts on making the map. i think you should finish the OoT map dispite other peoples thoughts.

well i'm currently trying to convince arkaman to rip me a TP location. I made an attempt to rip, but my computer doesn't meet the requiremenets.
soon we should have a location from TP.

I handed all OoT materials to arkaman; he said he would continue the work on it, while i work on the TP tags. If he doesn't, I'll go back and finish it after i release something for TP.

This map is being created for 3 major reasons.
-OoT was meant for RPing, which seems to be half the community's preference.
But now I have to give the other half something, which is a gameplay map. (for slayer, CTF, and so).
-OoT was sortof a rushed map. It was going well until we set the release date.
I'm not saying it was a mistake, but it held me back from adding many other things we had in mind. Therefore the bad quality brought forth complaints.
-Final, is that I think the OoT map will become boring, due to many people being so familiar with it already.
The new locations will easily be memorized, and people won't feel much of an update.

I won't dissapoint you, not all of you. I promise.

If you DO rip a location from TP i would recomend either the desert, the desert camp, or the feild North of kakariko (where the bridge of eldin is)

Also, since you're doing TP you have a wider variety of vehicles. You can put in the Warthog (real life one) and the Kargorock for a flying vehicle.

To be honest I liked all the locations on the ocarina of time one. I liked being able to go everywhere, capture the flag was so epic. And the music changes were cool too.
And it wasn't too awful big... but then again I loved the ocarina of time game so it threw me back.

But I can understand not makign the whole area from twilight princess... it's simply too big. And even though that would be epic fun, it's just too big to have fun with in halo.

a little demonstration of the 3 basic weapons used by jahrain in hyrulefield, and the horse. (with a little conversion)

Hookshot - Clawshot
Fire Bow - Bulblin's Bow [[ fire arrows will be changed to bomb arrows ]]
Boomerang - Winged (TP) Boomerang

Epona - TP Epona(?) not sure.

Since you are doing TP now. Can I help with the textures? I can rip them from my wii version I have at my home. But I cannot do it until august because i'm in Las Vegas visiting my mom for the summer.

Why do we need a spinner. Its not going to do much. And this isnt TP, so there wont be any grinding. Maybe if you have good aim and careful moving along a very thin path, but I doubt it.

I think they're the animations from JahRain's Zelda maps a long time ago.

I personally thought the map was awesome, it was a near-perfect replication of Ocarina of Time's pverworld. It's a shame, stopping a mod because of people complaining. I think you should do what YOU want to do, and not let other people shape your opinions or shift your goals.

However I will admit this new mod does look very promising, and I look forward to it. But the fact that you just flat-out abandoned the OOT mod because of some overly-critical "That is epic fail" spewing kids kind of saddens me.

Do what's fun for you, don't let people who don't appreciate your stuff get you down.

oh don't worry. arkaman will continue the project.

i'll go back to OoT once TP is done. (if necessary)
this'll save time in releasing our projects because we can actually work on it simultaneously.

na. shaders will decide its appearence.
but this is just a sample.
i'm obtaining the actual stages atm, to decide which i shall make first.

So far I have East Hyrulefield (where Eldin Bridge is located)
and Faron woods.

I was waiting for someone to reply to the picture so the thread updates.

Now that this will be read- i want majority votes on location for map.

here's options-

-E Hyrulefield (known for eldin bridge)
-S Hyrulefield (with a similar appearence to the OoT Hyrulefield -modernized- *outside of faron woods\ordon village)
-Faron Woods
-Kakariko Village
-Desert Wilds (where you land after the clown shoots you off the cannon)
-Desert Fortress Entrance (outpost right outside of the Desert "Temple")
-Ordon Village (starting location)


Voting Time ends when i post the location. -uncertain, but i need a while-

I'd go for a E Hyrule Field/Kakariko Village map. If I remember, they're right next to each other, and it's a fair sized area to use. Are you going to make the eldin bridge a breakable object? Also, have you thought of the idea I mentioned for the OOT map, using multiple character bipeds? One suggestion would be the group of adventurers from the bar.

yes i heard the idea, and I may put multiple bipeds here, seeing that there's a wide variety of characters i can chose from -that actually wield similar weapons to link-


EDIT: I haven't found kakariko yet. but i found one of the building's interiors. so i should be close.

it's tough finding them since they are called stuff like R_SP209
