IThis thread is to discuss, offer opinion backed by reason, the various merits of the CMT SPV2 A10 Public Beta only.

For those of you unaware of what the CMT SPV2 mod is all about:
The Modification is a total overhaul of the Halo 1 Single Player Campaign levels what include additional weapons, new vehicles, new encounters, new and higher resolution graphics, updates to the existing encounters, new and additional enemies and encounters, and even new and additional environments and terrain.

[One final reminder:

  • If you have some petty squabble with the team, take it someplace else.

  • If you try to derail the thread you will be banned and messages deleted.

  • If you make personal attacks you will be banned and deleted.

  • If you troll for an argument or post picture spam you will be banned and deleted.


You are free to disagree with decisions made or dislike the mod for any reason however when saying so be courteous and fully state your reasons why you agree/disagree or like/dislike whatever it may be. No personal attacks.

-Was easy to get lost in the new areas
-Hard to find ammo in the new areas
-Marine encounters in new areas seemed hastily placed. After all the enemies were gone, they would just stand where they were. It looked weird, especially at the new staircase. They stood in a ring around the staircase
-I rather liked the old pistol animations more than the new ones

But everything else is just awesome.

-Fix the string for when you pickup the double speed powerup.
-Unstack those stacked grunts in some areas.

some of the doors were off center.
the hands of the guys who type on the keyboard to release you were weird
other than that it was fun and interesting.

I got about 10-25 FPS
With decals, specular, and shadows off.

Had to clear away the garbage after each party I had.

Yeah we have something about to be submitted. You can also disable dynamic lights via CMT Extras Advancebo.

Bad stuff:
-Brute blood gets all over the place
-New bsp's get really confusing on were to go, like a poor hl2 mod.
-In the new bsp's, in the hallways the places with the metal grate floor go 100% black.
-Lacks quality on the new bsps, I know you don't care what we want, just saying.
-Also adding music on the new bsps might help

Good stuff:
-I love the weapons especially the pistol!
-Brutes are well done
-Elites look well detailed
-bsp designes are great.

Worked good for me. I had a random glitch however, I skipped a fight by not finishing them off and the next BSP didn't load and there was a bunch of frozen AI.

Only brought it up to show that it wasn't frozen.

Also, when I shot them, they stared to move again and the next BSP loaded.

I had a non glitch when i walked through an unlocked door that shouldnt be unlocked and the bsp ended and I thought I was lost until I found the right path.

When I do it goes straight to white screen, the music stops and it is blank.

and you can't restart it? Use an UI, or load another sp map and then load a10 again.

right at the end of the map, during the final cutscene, cortana started talking about how the covenant were using the life pod bays to attach and board the PoA. seems she picked up on that a little late :U

shooting brutes with the battle rifle (possibly other bullet based weapons too) causes massive amounts of red blood to pool.

shooting brutes with the brute plasma rifle (did not try elite plasma rifle) yields bright blue blood effects.

alot of the ladders in the new areas are difficult to finish climbing. you get to the top then bounce up and down because you cant quite get up on top. i do not know how to fix that, but it is an issue.

when charging the hunter cannon, the model suddenly ends up on top of the text that says public beta build. i suspect this is an engine limitation, and the words should be gone in the final... i hope.

silenced pistol didnt seem very silent. every time i shot at unaware enemies (usually grunts) all nearby enemies heard the shot and knew i was there.

some of the areas are vast. i like this, but it becomes easy to get lost. i personally would prefer not to have the game spoon fed to me, but some players may need nav points after a few minutes of trying to figure out where to go. i know some people were getting lost.

when you see the first 3 grunts, when i killed the one closest to the wall, i saw some orange blood mixed in with the blue. is that hunter blood? or is that like that other thing in the original campaign where if you shoot hunters enough flood blood will come out?

i noticed a spot in the black twisted hallways that look kind of destroyed where once you go past a certain point you cannot get back up because the edge is too steep, and you cant build up speed for a running crouch jump because of a small bump right in front of the incline. this isnt really an issue, since you are supposed to go that way anyway, but it was a minor inconvenience since i didnt get all the ammo i would have liked to fetch before i went down there.

i...it was almost impossible to describe what i just saw, um...lets start with the fact that it was incredibly confusing, if one were to explore the entire map, it would take them hours, and they will get lost, for seasoned pillar of autumn players, this lvl is completable, but for newbies, i feel really sorry for them, they are going to get lost over and oer and over again
