I have decided that it has been to long since my last map release. Two years i think. And none of them were any good. Since then all the maps i have tried to make have failed because i have put too much detail into them and they would not compile. This time i want to make something fun and interesting yet not incredibly high poly. I am in need of a floor plan for this map. I have started it but have no idea where to go from here. This is what i have so far.

The type of architecture is up to you. Right now it is a combo of human and forerunner. I am very bad at coming up with ideas so thats why im asking you guys. Also by floor plan i mean the layout of the map, how many rooms, how big they are that sort of stuff.

I am thinking of making something like foundry but not copying it. It will be symmetrical so what you see now will be the same on the back side. What do you guys think?

I never played Halo 3 but from what I saw, Foundry looks kind of cluttered and just a bunch of boxes.........

Can I make a simple request that I don't beleive will be too difficult.

Try increasing the map, bipod, weapon, vehicle size by 1.5

I have an hunch that this would help with the tracking and lag issue in halo CE, just putting this out of a whim, you don't have to do it actually because I just had an idea

THat wouldn't change anything with the netcode, it would just make everything bigger.

I hope you can incorporate and exterior part of the level, as well as vertical and horizontal combat. IMO foundry is very boring.

you could mix Halo 3 Maps together, like Foundry, Valhalla, and Sandtrap or something with Narrows (a bridge) connecting them?

example, if it is a small map with houses, it could use work, if it is a big facility with lots of rooms, its a good start...........

I think I see extrudes on the bars at the top, remove those, would be a waste of polys since you wouldnt be near them.

This. Tone down the detail on the top part, it's overpolied.

well, i can't say much about your map (because i am crap at modelling), but it looks good.
just make sure it has good gameplay, and isn't too big.

suggestions:
allow each team to have multiple pathways to the other team
keep the weapons (and vehicles, if any) in the map balanced
a good readme.txt too that explains the tactics that can be used in the map

I talked to him on xfire, its a human warehouse with 1 main room and smaller rooms around it.

and he is using Halo 1 weapons but I convinced him to use the Halo 3 AR and the BR

Uhh, a Halo map with halo 1 weapons combined with "a few" weapons from halo 3 = not good, that's my opinion at it's best.

Its fine as long as balance is kept. Depends on how its accomplished.

maybe a caltwalk or two hanging from the ceiling with cover (boxes and such) for snipers.... one on each side...?
