In China, just a few FPS players know HALO.
Many people in China prefer Online Games (such as "Westward Journey Fantasy") ,especially RPG(Role Play Games ).
That means, just a few Chinese players play first person strike Games.
But most of them only know Counter Strike(I mean CS1.6,not CS:S) , when they saw another FPS game , they will say:"This game looks like Counter Strike!".
Only a few FPS players are FPS fans. they love FPS games best , so they know many FPS Games like Halo , HalfLife , HalfLife2 ,Call of duty , Crysis , etc.
Most of halo players only played HALO1, because they don't have XBOX, and their computers can't play HALO2.

After reading my description , you may know the greatest game HALO in China , is so unpopular.

PS: I am a 13 years old student, so i cannot speak or write english very well , i just hope you can understand what did i say.

I don't know what purpose this thread serves, but if it's just sharing a thought:

Yes china doesn't play much halo, but then again, africa doesn't either.
It just depends on what someone likes, I myself are a huge fan of FPS games, must have played every one of them (though I might be one of the few that dislikes CS as a whole, apart from the modders) and yea, if someone only knows runescape (ugh) they'll think of halo as "runescape in the future" and whatever.

The point? China sucks, everyone should know Halo. =3

Halo doesn't get too much attention in Asian countries for some reason.

Because most of chinese players like playing some games without much skill .
They can use money to upgrade their characters, that means some noobs can use money to defeat masters of the game.

Just a few people are huge FPS fans like me in China . We like FPS, and we hate "money games".

Not neccessarily. I live in Singapore, and in less than a month Halo 3 ODST has been sold out. When it was released, the stores had a shelf or so of them each! Now not a single one in sight. I've checked everywhere possible to check.

But then again Halo in general this game isn't that good of a game that EVERYONE should know, it's overrated. Being Chinese my self I prefer fps games from most others although I do like games like gran tursimo, kingdom hearts, pokemon etc. Also the only thing that makes halo worth playing for SUCH a long time is the possibility of modding hence custom edition. For me I've stuck around CE for atleast 3 years now and plan to contribute something in the next few years once I get around to it.

The point? China doesn't suck, it just has different preferences. Oh and I bet someone else in china has made the same thread but talking about rpg games instead of fps games.:p

You guys do realise China practically isolates itself from the west in terms of video games and the internet in order to minimalize contact (its starting to fade now though)

It seems to me like soon China is going to be wiped away from the world either that or a revolution is going to happen there and they are going to make china a good country again and turn it into a democracy or parliamentary democracy one of the two.

It practically already is capitalist and democratic. It just doesn't want to look like a coward by coming back to it so obviously after just 60 years.

your mother is sweeping the kitchen. you have approximately 5.8 seconds to evacuate your area before she starts yelling at you to get up so she can sweep

Im in Canada. Over in BC (so, it means that im one of the people loosing money so the goverment can host the olympics in 2010... what a waste of money.. Good thing im about the graduate, and there should be some good universites over in alberta where some reletive lives.. (over in edmonton, so there should be plenty of universities for anything) rawwrr.. soon to be both tax put in one so we have to pay tax on everything so the goverment can pay for their olympics.. they are basicly the only ones going.. Gordan Campbell and his friends.

The Koreans love to play the original Starcraft and Starcraft Broodwar, you should seriously check out some matches on youtube, totally awesome stuff I would have never thought of doing back when I was playing this game :D

Also, They have an entire channel dedicated to Starcraft matches, as well as showing tournaments on there too.

Target FTW Walmart sucks:
As of 2008, if Wal-Mart was its own country, it would rank as the eighth largest importer of Chinese goods, ahead of Russia and India. ["US-China Trade Statistics and China's World Trade Statistics," US-China Business Council, 2008];
A 2008 report by the National Labor Committee found that workers making holiday ornaments for Wal-Mart in Guangzhou, China were paid only 2/3 of the legal minimum wage, often worked 95 hour weeks, and were forced to work for months without a single day off. The report also found that children as young as 12 worked in the factory and that workers handled dangerous chemicals without even the most rudimentary form of protection, leading to serious skin rashes and sores. ["A Wal-Mart Christmas: Brought to You by a Sweatshop in China," The National Labor Committee, December 2007]
