You can't just "put Halo 3 ragdoll physics" into a Halo CE map. It requires changing the engine to allow ragdoll physics. The best you can get now, is more realistic death animations.

... Learn the basics of modding before you ask such silly questions. The answer is No.

You can;t change the game engine functionality with tags and scripts added to a map...

You would have to completely revamp the entire halo ce engine by the time you did that, it would no longer be hce.

If you use better death animations, can you make them like permutations? So like after one death animations play, you have a chance of having a different one play the next time you die?

Look at dmt upskirts; that map is probably the closest you'll get.

The H2CE team did a good job with the animation where in halo 2, if you shoot someone in the head with a sniper they almost do a backflip and land on their back.... but yall probably didnt realize this because all people play is zanzibar D:

ok then Barron,i'm either really persistent or really annoying.(or both!) but is there any way you could take those Halo 2 death animations you were talking about and put them in halo ce? or pc?

The short answer is no. The physics engine in the Halo PC/CE game does not support ragedoll physics. It would require re-writing the game engine just the way Bungie did with Halo 2 & 3.

Actually it would be able to. You need to put Havok or any other good physics engine in. It is not a question of the entire engine, but a question of lack of physics engine.

yeah you can rip them. If your talking about the ones the H2CE team did then yes. If you mean straight from halo 2 i dont think so... you would have to make your own.

The closest I've ever seen to "ragdoll physics" was Mahalo's Overdose campaign. It was basically an animation made within Max using Havok I believe, and it used limp body physics to simulate it.

It was a good concept, but not exactly what I'd call pretty.

guys,i gotz an idea try using the elite flood death animation for a spartan like when it flies in the air or falls that would be of some use yet having the engine not handle ragdoll physics but this is the most you can get out of ragdoll physics in halo CE

^I know this for fact.

you can FAKE ragdoll physics though. Just make your own custom death animations.

All I really want to see is a good splatter where you get thrown away from the vehicle istead of just falling down.

hi, lets use our brains here: the fp legs are something in the engine that we didnt think to look for. rag doll physics are something that do not exist in the engine whatsoever. theyre 2 different things.

also, in b4 "BUT GMAX CAN EXPORT ANIMS NOW"

They intergrated ragdoll physics into their map.

Nah

They used good death animations.

^ Exactly

Look everyone, there is NO SUCH THING AS RAGDOLL PHYSICS IN HALO CE!

Simple as that. And what you all nubs are calling "ragdoll physics" in halo ce are just fancy death animations. Am right, your wrong. Just thought I'd make this clear.

I win.

Let me talk to skarma about that one... It'd probably be possible if he does what he's doing and finishes. He has other things he's working on though so I highly doubt he'd say 'yes' to reversing the physik section of Halo.

In real life, your body goes stiff after death, rather than limp.
