Not SPV2, well, at least not just quite yet… but today we have something to announce that many of you have been asking for quite a while, about…. 2 and a half years actually, and that is our next set of MP maps. While the original plan was to release new MP maps after SPV2, we have decided that since the tagset it nearly complete (a few more edits have to be made to it, before the MP maps are ready), we are going to release MPG3 (Multiplayer Generation 3), a set of maps which should total to around 10 by April. Some of these are brand new, some are revisions of older maps of Arteens, some are never released MP maps by CMT, and of course, the 4 maps of MPv2 will return, although we are saving the newest version of Grove for last. The new maps will include the weapons you were expecting from SPV2, minus the turret and hunter guns, and all are planned to also include the Day and Night switch from MPv2. Another new feature we are adding, is the ability to “flush” the global script functions, so your MPG3 maps will erase the effects of maps like Coldsnap where you will not eject from your vehicle, even after you have quit playing the map. Backpack weapons however, are being removed, and the new MP maps will strain your system more than the MPV2 maps. Like always, we are paying close attention to ways to optimize the maps, for the best experience, but this is 2 and a half years of advancements to our art, so there are significant changes.

So you might be asking yourself, how are we planning on testing, what about tag protection, where will I play these maps without having to deal with annoying game types and immature server owners. CMT is once again going to have an official server, which will host a full cycle of MPV2 maps (unless we are testing internally), and then will be used for the public beta tests of MPG3. Once MPG3 is released, this server will be running MPG3 with all sorts of gametypes. As far as tag protection goes, our new system being developed should make people on all sides of the spectrum happy. The maps will NOT BE PROTECTED, although certain tags will not be compileable or openable (yes I made those words up) to anyone who rips them. This means everyone can look and see how everything is done in our maps, yet, there will not be a way for people to make “unofficial CMT MPG3 maps”.

We expect the first MPG3 Public beta to take place mid January, with the rollout of maps soon after, assuming there are no huge problems with the public beta. The server should be up and running our first internal beta tonight, and will be set to MPV2 maps later tonight. Please use this thread to discuss what gametypes you would like to see on the server, as well as discussion of the future MP maps. Please leave tag protection out of this thread, we’ve done our best to suite the wants and needs of people everywhere, while honoring the wishes of some of the team members.

The internal beta tonight will include Arteen’s Auger and Mousetrap. Auger is a mid sized outdoor map set in the canyons of Attack on the Control room

woot woot :D ty masterz. but dont put in spv2 biped I still cant see when i go into third person. :/
dont take me wrong on this part im about to say but I used rippers tags to see if I could fix.... theres no way I can fix unless you optimize it to the mpv2 bipeds polys. but please dont use the mark ii.because alot of people complained one day on the halomaps official cmt forum that one day because of this error. So please for the rest of the low grafix community do not use mark ii.

We plan on fixing the biped problem. We also have a teamspeak server, to go with our map server.

We just played 2 beta maps and this server is amazing, the highest ping was 99 and we all had a 33 for most of the game. It's the best connection I've ever had, there was almost no need to lead. The server will be up for the MPV2 maps in about an hour. I urge you all to play.

That was fun. My ping was around 130 but that was because I was downloading teamspeak at the same time.
I'd suggest adding some more maps to the server because just those 4 maps got kinda boring.
PS: I've always liked Icy Swamps.

Eventually Snowgrove will stop revolving every other match. The reason we have it set up like that is because most people have that map compared to the others so it's being used to bring players in.

Hey this is a possible user error but every time I try to join the server it says the game has closed down. I would really appreciate it if someone could help me.
