The outside structures are magnificent, really cool!



However I prefer Gearbox's original interior lighting, it's darker and has more colour and atmosphere. The new one is just dull.

Some tests I did today. My human and elite blood decals use subtract and are inverted to simulate multiply... this way I can make blood disappear slowly.

My decals vanish more rapidly like the modern halo's, i did this to optimize and use efficiently the halo ce engine... and to avoid the overload glitch. (I did something similar for my particles and effects to)

some parts of Spv3 and The MCC versions of halo overload and the game doesn't want to spawn more particles, effects, decals and even projectiles.

I believe I have seen guided rockets before. The "follow me" feature is a true 10/10 addition though.

There was also a guy developing a version that works in SP. Can't remember who the user's name was, but the rockets were guided by AI, if I remember correctly.

If so, there is a difference. Simply put, that one is heat-seeking while mine is laser-guided.
That one only locks on to other objects, while mine is guided by where the player is directly looking.

Damn, was that really almost 7 years ago? Not quite that either.

I may have indeed been imagining homing rockets. I've been playing CE for over a decade (and my forum anniversary is in two days!) that I felt I've seen laser before, but I'm probably mixing the memories up with a minutia of other games I have played over the years.

It's pretty nice when you get to the point where you haven't used the HEK for like 5 years but still know every nook and cranny of the engine :)




Working on smoothing groups and trying to find some original textures to work with because the stock textures are kinda too much.

BSP does not spawn dynamic shadows, use Aether instead.

To make dynamic shadows in scenery make them vehicles

Pretty sure those aren't "real" shadows tho, I'm hoping for orange to have made a whole new system :)

Well no,

Am not that smart. But being purely an animator for a while now has taught me pretty well on how on how to fake things using what I have on hand.

Regularly using super outdated enterprise software certainly helps :)
