Hi, I have been working with 3ds max for some time now. I decided to look at the ODST concept art, and try to make it myself. Here is a link the the armoury

It looks like it's coming along really well. How much further have you gotten since these pictures were taken?

I sadly didnt have my computer hard drive backed up, and I lost this map. I will eventually try to make it again. But I've always had a hard time getting anything that i made to compile.

when i try to get this model into the game, i keep getting this error messge:
radiosity error: degenerate triangle [or triangle with bad uvs] (see blue in error geometry)
I'd open the wrl file to see what was wrong, and every polygon would be highlighted.

I have been experimenting why i always get this message with everything that i make. I am able to get a single box map to compile, but when ever i tesselate a polygon, my map will not compile.

This has only worked once before, I got that error message, and then a month later, it worked on this piece of scenery.



I asked around on these forums about the error message, but no one replied. I gave up on halo custom edition after that for a while. I have been writting a story board for a custom campaign, which will bring me back into halo ce.

Do you know why i get this error message? thanks.

(PS. I know this was a little more than a map update, but i really want to get back into halo custom edition.)

Aw, shoot, that sucks. It looked awesome!

The only thing I can think of is to go back to the modeling program and "fix" the UVW mapping. I think a "Degenerate triangle" is a surface where there isn't a UVW map.

Is that one of the cars from New Mombasa? Seems like it'd be an awesome scenery tag!

Yes, I got the design from another concept art pic at the bungie website for odst. I want to turn it into a scenery tag and then release it for download on this site, but the collision model coordinates are messed up right now, and I want to work on the bitmaps a little more. half of the car you can walk through, and theres an invisible boundry sticking out the other side. lol. ill fix that soon hopefully.

Edit:I found it! omg I found the map file! and it would appear that I did work on it some more before giving up then.

hmm ODST tags. Just what my team needs...
