So it's safe to say that both this and SPV2 are projects dead in the water. Their is little to no interest within the team for now, and I am shutting CMT down until the majority of it's members are once again interested in following through on the project. Nothing is going to be open sourced or released, in the event one day we may finish what we started.

I'm starting a new project unrelated to CMT and the CE community, you should hear about it in 60 days as well as possibly a new group of people I'll be working with. I'm pretty sure all of you who will download it will, and when you see it I hope it will wow you like the CE projects I have worked on. In the coming weeks I'll be posting less and less, and as many of you know, I rarely use my desktop and leave it mostly powered off these days. If you want to talk to me on Xfire, you'll have to wait till they update iFire seeing as right now it can't load my friends list (which is huge). Until then, eMail is the way to reach me.

Adios

.

This is where the ripped tags will become the closest thing to SPV2 will ever be.

I am sorry to see the team disband however, I for one wish to thank you and the team for all the efforts you put into the Halo CE game.

Including the first complete and total modification of the entire single player campaign, the various CMT multiplayer levels and the release of the beta single player version 2 level the CMT team has contributed more to the game than any other mapping team.

Thank you to all those on the team for your time and efforts.

I think it would have been nice, but it's to late for this old game for something so big.

Single Player Version Two.

Personally, I would have minded just having classic weapons and such but with longer and more BSPs.

Technically, it's not against the rules to upload ripped content, as we ALL know. He can do what he wants. The question is: will it be tolerated by the Admin, who has a seemingly close relationship with CMT?

And I guess some people here would have a fit, despite the fact it wouldn't affect their lives in any way, or at least, it shouldn't.

Dennis would know it's ripped content and wouldn't accept it. If he didn't know it was an unwarranted release, it would be added.

Remember when you pm'ed Dennis b/c someone uploaded b40_Firefight when it was still in beta? There's mah point.

Personal feelings should never affect people's judgement of what should and shouldn't be allowed on a forum and by who.

Asmany of you know I don't contrtibute much to the forums, or to the Halo CE community for that matter. I have been part of this community for about two years now and have been watching the things on thios forum for a little bit longer, and what Masters has posted, has left me shaking my head. Although I can understand where your coming from on the matter I can't fathom why someone would just give up on something that inspired so much happiness and hope inside the Halo CE community.

This really hurt me to read, as it marked the end of something great in the Halo CE community. When CMT came out with its first campaign I was so amazed with the amount of work that was put into the mod and the level of detail in the weapons and vehicles. I think this also amazed other people, and inspired them to make their own maps and form their own teams.

In turn ambitious projects were undertaken (though many failed) and because of your teams work players expected higher quality maps, weapons, bipeds, and vehicles. This in turn increased the amount of quality custom content that was introuduced to the community. So in my opinion (No offense Dennis) the Halo CE community would be dead without CMT. Because not only did you and your team create content that was fun, you inspired people t pursue their own projects and this in turn led to people wanting to be on par with THE CMT.

All in all I can't make you change your mind anymore than I can make spv2 come out tommorw. But I will leave you with this, if you quit now, all those people who ever said you "could'nt" will win. All those troll, rippers, and flamers will be victorious and squash every single young project with "Look what happened to CMT" and when a project eventually fails they will revel in their own rightness. And the words "I told you so" will take on a new definition in this community. and the worst part of it all being, that you will always be faced with the horrible thought of what COULD have transpired.

But as Dennis said, thanks for all the years of hard work and the cool custom content. And although I don't agree with your decision I must/will respect it. As for Lodex I must respectfully disagree as CMT has in fact contributed the most QUALITY content to this community. As for you and your team, I wish you the best of luck in your walk of life and hope whatever endeavor you set your mind to will be successful.

RIP CMT

I couldn't agree more. But CMT really gave up on caring about people such as ReconDevastatorFTW and the like. Because of such morons, their content was leaked earlier than anticipated, which left them with few new things to show to the public. Hopefully though they'll come back with a surprise for us, not because we demand it, but because they deserve to know about our appreciation for all their hard work. This isn't the last of CMT. Thanks for everything so far guys :)

You know, I have to agree.

CMT is perhaps the sole reason i've come back to this community, nearly two years after I left.

Maps like CMT Snow Grove brought the content in Halo CE to a completely new level, and it was in these shadows that I ruled out my ideas and plans, and here I stand today, ready to take on the Halo CE world.

We have not seen the last of CMT, Mark my words.
