It's sad to see you guys go, can't say I didn't see this coming, but still sad. I'm glad you guys stayed around as long as you did, though. You were certainly a big part of the community.

does it really matter who's better?
Besides, most of the members on H3MT also did work for CMT, and vice versa, you can't really say one team is better than the other when 85% of the members are in both teams :\

That's a rather bold statement, as you didn't properly quantify "contribution". I have no doubt that, in your opinion, CMT contributed the most to the community, perhaps in a quantative way..
Don't be an ass. a quick search of the arvchive and you will see that no other team has produced as much work as the CMT team has. Your nonsense is becoming tiring.

SPV2 has been 5 years in the works. Many of us have accepted that it wont come out the way Masterz envisioned it.

also, i think its kinda funny to see that much of my friends on the haloce community have quit halo all at around the same time (same time as CMT quit).

Don't Troll.

I haven't posted in so long, but this is just wrong. Dennis is right, CMT has contributed a vast amount of work to this long outdated engine. I am amazed how long they lasted, all new new games coming out I would have expected them to move on long before now.

You guys need to show some thanks to what Masterz and the rest of the team did for the community. So speaking for all the people that loved all the work you did. Thank you CMT for all your hard work. I will never forget the spark that you kept lit in this community.

I would like to know where you are moving to. You say 60 days? I can wait that long to see what you move on to. I hope for the source engine, need more quality designers there.

Rest in peace, CMT

cmt has made the best content i have ever seen, most of what they made would seem impossible because of engine limitations, but even through that, they still made it. cmt was one of the groups that inspired me to make cool content, and they are part of the reason why i check the forums every single day. thank you cmt and i hope to see you again sometime, wether to finish spv2, or something even more impressive.

RIP CMT

Don't compare CMT and H3MT. H3MT hasn't contributed to the community at all. (Waits for someone to search up 1 tag that got leaked on the site)

Kiwi's dislike for CMT may have grown more from a knee-jerk reaction to people worshiping them. Well, that and the fact that snowgrove was one of those maps that were overplayed and had multiple 24/7 servers for (Kiwi always preferred the original maps). Their campaign was Kiwi's favorite work, shame they never got the better version out.

Kiwi will say one thing about their weapons, they got the right idea. They didn't dedicate all their resources and all their time to making things work exactly like they did in another game (namely Halo 2 and 3), instead taking those things and messing around with them to work in their own way that fits with the game play, something that many, many people still do not seem to grasp.

So looking at it, yeah, they probably are the best, if only because they understood how to do weapons.

In all fairness , Dennis dosen't take down maps unless he has a court order to do so.
Ripped CMT content can be found all around if you search hard enough on Halomaps.
The post also said that they were shutting down until there was more interest by the members again , so yes , all the CMT fanboys don't need to commit sucide.

I hope that they'll finish what they started , seeing as its been in progress on and off for the past few years. It would be a pity if it all went to waste in a recycle bin or an external hard drive.

i can understand why you guys are getting worked up about this, but really did you not see it coming? theyve been working on this whole thing for a ridiculous amount of time. the fact that it took so long just to provide a beta of the first level should tell you something. i was looking forward to the next MP maps, but in all honesty i never really expected anything to happen.

Is anyone really honestly surprised??? I saw this coming from a mile away, and that is sad if I'm one of the few who did. Sorry to sound like an ***, that's just the way it worked.

They were good with content admittedly, but just... acting superior a little (not much). Basically, everthing Kiwi said I agree with, at least, imhtgo.

CMT was CE's biggest mapping team.
And now it's gone.
This is evidence CE really is dying.

Yeah no it's not dying. The people on the team just got tired of the project.

Hope someone can finish off some of the ripped/leaked work (i've seen an early version of b40, maybe someone can finish it off?

Sorry man, but that was a leak. I have most of H3MT's maps and it's a shame they never got out. They weren't all that bad.

I am sorry to see the team disband however, I for one wish to thank you and the team for all the efforts you put into the Halo CE game.

Including the first complete and total modification of the entire single player campaign, the various CMT multiplayer levels and the release of the beta single player version 2 level the CMT team has contributed more to the game than any other mapping team.

Thank you to all those on the team for your time and efforts.

Couldn't put it better myself.
Now all I have to look forward to Reach and the new crysis game.

Just a casual observer, but I saw this coming. They obviously wanted to finish it, but you can only work on something so long before you get friggin' tired of it.

At least they told those of you who were waiting for it.

What, he is right though, at least from what Kiwi saw from Masters. He did act like he was superior to people on occasion, though that wasn't all the time.

Can't say I'm not surprised either, there seemed to be less and less information as time went on, only a matter of time before it was just abandoned. Good luck on your next project Masters!
