Hello, small update.

Progress on the level has been going well, spring break has started for most of us on the team and we are about to get alot of things done.
Although, were starting to become in need of voice acting.

We need 5 male voice actors, and 2 female voice actors (or an extra male voice actor, if another female voice actor cannot be found, since that role isnt major for the second female)

If you want to apply:

  • Need some kind of experience in voice acting/ and or acting

  • a GOOD mic.

  • Reliable, can trust with beta's and the sorts.



By the way, there is one female and male lead roles.

I guess this is time to announce those lead roles in the mod as well:

May
A solitary young women who speaks little. She is in the Spartan II program.
Her life was shrouded in mystery even before the UNSC took her in. Her true name is unknown, she is simply known as May.

Brandon
A true to the book ODST. He is the squad leader of the recon squad in the mod.
He is fierce but calm in his own way, and yet has courage to fight along side his squad.

I would apply cuz I'm at the top o' da class in creative expressions, and have been in quite a few plays, but my mikes broken and I'm sure most people on here don't trust me...

Im not gonna be a prick and confuse you and try to be all complicated.

-The I use, I use for singing and like... recording studio. So mine plugs into a mixer- It was 90 bucks

-Then MXL makes the actual USB ones which I suppose would be the exact same quality

Not sure if advance was kidding or not. But I have actually used that mic before I got my MXL for a loong time. And the scary thing is. Its awesome. Put a sock over the mic and it acts a POP filter so your voices comes in extra clear. I just showed my mic incase you guys want a pretty good sound, but the ROckband mic will sound great too.

Here are the things that I think make a voice sound good when recording

- You can't hear the mic bobbling Around
- There's no PPPPFFF when someone says a P
-You can't hear their lips (Like when they swallow)
-No background fuzz. But if you put it over a video clip/or if its ingame. You wont hear it anyway
- A good amount of bass on the voice to make it sound powerful

It's not hard to revoice a male's voice for voice acting. I voice acted for a girl in quite a few animations for a friend of mine. He had no ones else that could play the girl so I did. It's quite easy depending on the voice actor that is voice acting as a girl.

The map looks like total crap as of now. And considering I didnt even really get a good understanding if the gameplay was good or not cuase I was at dinner then entire time, it wasnt on a dedi, and there was only 3 people which only limited to slayer. There is a few things I know need changed. Anything you saw?

Well, what things would you want in it? Like I said above, the map dosent look good as of yet as it was only to test gameplay, which I didn't really get to test much..

NONONONO. I never said it looked bad, Honestly I think it looks great. I just think you guys should make SOME type of new weapon, turret. Or even add an outdoor portion. Its small stuff that I like. Like look at hydrolisis (However you spell it). They added the Beetle- a little jetpack. It may not be easy to make but something as small as that will make me play the map. A gun that disenegrates people. Lights them on fire w. alternating flame coors?

I like Kid's suggestion, put something new in there. Something small, like, updating some particle effects, or maybe new animations. Just a cool little addition/modification to the content.
Also, I like the Boxxy near the overshield lol.

Just how long is the SP project going to be?

And try populating your MP maps with small objects to give detail, that would defiantly would be an improvement.

Finally got around to making a moddb page.

We also showed a pretty brief description of the mod's story.

Quote: The year is 2525. At the start of the Human-Covenant war, the UNSC had located a small planet now known as "Lumoria". The UNSC had discovered architecture and animal wild life on the planet, that no one knew of. This planet was built by the forerunners, they would later realize. A small research vessel was sent to Lumoria to study the new planet. Shortly there after, they were attacked by Covenant forces. The UNSC picked up a distress signal from the planet's surface. It was a message from one of the scientists. Their vessel was attacked by several covenant ships while he was studying the interiors of the new structures. The Endless Horizon, a small, stealthy UNSC frigate is sent in for a low-profile search and rescue mission.


Also hopefully real soon we can show off some real cool stuff for you all.
Also, as Lodex said, the map is about 15 minutes long for him and me. Though, we both play it probably like 20 times a day becuase of how awesome it is, so it's probably a bit longer then that.

Well, if you mean the length of the level, im hoping an hour and half is the minimum.

As for how long till completion (if thats what you meant), it wont be done till its done, but at this pace I think you will be seeing this mod out in 2010.
