tool++ is just a grapic interface whits acts like a ovelay of tool itself. tool is running on the background doing the real work. Tool++ is not fully functioning jet so there could be some error in tool that tool++ doesn't understand. It's just the best to try it the original way first befor you're sure it's a problem we need to solve here.

Try it whit tool and see if it comes up whit a error message or warning, post the result and we see what's wrong. In the mean while keep an eye open for the map file! Is it in ur maps directory maybe?

What did you name the bsp? I believe tool++ saves auto too the pre selected data folder in ce. He is saying that regular tool is easier sometimes becuase you physicaly type the command and address in and it will display any errors right then.. Also look in the debug file in the main halo ce directory and scroll to the very bottom. There should be some kind of error there. Copy and post that error here. A normal error for this scenario would be a duplicate folder, same name not In the right directory.

Open your maps folder, press the 'Compatibility Files' button towards the top, find your map and paste it in the real maps folder. Not sure what else to tell you.

are you using vista or 7? if so you need to run tool/tool++ as administrator (right click, run as administrator)

Download the new jms exporter from halo maps and put it in the scripts folder of 3ds max. when you are ready to compile click on maxscript, click run, click on or find the directory that your jms expoter script is example: c:\program files\autodesk\3ds max 2010\scripts"jmsexporter" make sure you have saved the model and have all the textures, bitmaps, ready as well (shaders ect...) then click export jms data. Any problems it will let you know right there, our in the debug of the halo root dir. Hope it helps

http://hce.halomaps.org/index.cfm?fid=5196 jms exporter
also, Like refuesandresist said, save too your halo ce data map folder, in the model folder for the map you are working on.

http://forum.halomaps.org/index.cfm?page=topic&topicID=31331

PLEASE TAKE A LOOK AT THIS BEFORE DOING WHAT XSNODER ADVISED. This because you micht want to use version 1.0.2 of jms exporter as i explaind in my other post.

DONT USE TOOL++ Use regular tool and build your cache with that. Your map will build then.

Whoa man I aint trying to give bad advise. If 3 don't work then go with 2. I run the same thing and have no problems ,what so ever, and have helped more then once on this subject. I am not arguing and agree 2 might be better than 3 but I have been here a year and have made plenty of maps models with 2 ,and now I use 3. Peace, and just trying to help.

Altrough I recomand to look into the files of newer versions to see what's improved. There might be some bugs whit your version.

run radiosity on the map. 1 way to do this is: while in sapien hit the ~ key then type radiosity_quality 0 and hit enter then type radiosity_start and hit enter then three sets of nubers will appear in the top left corner and you wait for them to hit 0.0000000 when they do you type radiosity_save and you should see your map

But be ware: when you finish the map in sapien do the radiosity proses again but now whit quality 1

~radiosity_quality 1
~radiosity_start
wait for everything to get 0 unless it takes to long just let it go as low as you can
~radiosity_save

Now you got good quality radiosity in there...
