Have i ever told you the definition of insanity?

Ok, shadow link and i are starting on a Majoras Mask map and i've already ripped the whole clock town. it would be great for some helpers. If you're interested in helping you can send us a PM or add us on xfire (me: slarbiter shadow link: xbl). Any questions about the Twilight Princess map are welcome here too.

Hm... Will you be including the moon in this? Possibly accessed through teleporter or something, but it would be awesome to see that included.

I can easily help with that.

Wait until Night of the Final Day, then go up to the clock tower at midnight. When the battle starts, play the Oath to Order. That will get the whole thing started.

i was thinking about having the teleporter in the stairs that lead up to the top of the tower but thats a good idea

It's like a dream come true... With both The Land of Hyrule and this Majora's Mask map COMPLETED, imagine just how fun it would be to play the entire OOT or MM with up to 15 other players! 16 swords adventures anyone?

i was actualy thinking about makining these maps into sp if there not going to be protected. i know you can rip the model of the land but not so sure if you can rip the ai models. if so i'd make it into a sp

Hopefully not bit by bit over the course of more than a year's worth of work like Sandtrap was. Maybe something will finally get released in the community after all.
EDIT: Is any progress being made on the map? If so can we see a picture of what you have so far?

well right now im ripping some extra places like the inside of the hotel and the milk bar. but for now the maps on hold until we find someone who has alot of free time and is willing to name and tag the textures and apply on the multi-materials. if you can, add slarbiter on xfire or just PM me.

This project has so much potential. The Land of Hyrule 0.3 and this map will be amazing. For some reason, I have always been able to imagine a multiplayer online version of Majora's Mask. Maybe it's because you can play as all the races. I'm not asking for you to do that, but if possible, it would be pretty cool to implement such a system.

Well you have to remember that everyone has to look the same more or less. The only difference you can really have are the colors.

That's true, but it might be possible to create vehicles for each mask. All we would need to do is:
Put the camera in the right position to simulate a first person camera
Make it so you can use weapons while in the vehicle.
Think about it, sure there would be vehicles all over the place, but how about a constantly respawning vehicle in the areas that you get the mask's in in the game? That way, if you go to the Mountain, Goron vehicles will be at the cliff top, go to the swamp, Deku vehicles will be in the king's chambers etc. Heck, you might be able to make certain NPC's from the game by making them moving scenery. That way, there would be no problems with sync, yet you could still have some 'believable' 'AI's'. All of these ideas I've stated are probably too much for a 9 year old game engine, but I certainly think you should try making the mask vehicles.

Well those are great ideas but it might be too much work to create all those vehicles and having the same settings you would without a vehicle. It's worth a try, but I wouldn't get my hopes too high.

haha, why wont it?? plus instead of making vehicles as the masks i was thinking about just adding new bipeds to bump possess for machinima or even online if you dare, i was also hoping to have the milk bar and hotel for better role plays

But why bump possession? The vehicles will be harder to make, but at least they will WORK in multiplayer. Bump possessing online causes extreme lag and also crashes the game. If you won't put them in as WORKING vehicles, I suggest you just play as Link, full stop.

That's a good idea. Think about it. If we could get the weapon to override the player model some how, this would work well, and we could save vehicle space. We could have each race have its own weapon, a bit like this:

  • Deku: (Primary: Nuts) (Secondary: Bubble)

  • Goron: (Primary: Punch) (Secondary: Roll)

  • Zora: (Primary: Boomerang) (Secondary: Shield)


This way, you have to choose your weapon of approach carefully, instead of saying "Screw it, I'll take the rockets and nades. >:D"

Woo! Sl arbiter i found a faster way to tag all the map it might take me 2 minutes a map now WOOT!
Anyway I have most of the maps done but I'm missing 4 I'll PM you which ones they are.

lol thanks so much, now we just need to find someone to get it ready for halo like adding the teleporters and spawnpoints and all that crap. unless you want to do it, we need to find someone who wants to
