I've searched throughout the forums and all Halo CE maps, but I can't seem to find any maps in which you play as a pirate with pirate weapons and pirate ships. Has anyone ever made any? Please don't make any for me though I'd rather do it myself.

There are no pirate maps but some medieval ones. If you were to make one, I suggest a pirate ship (it was a fun level in Unreal Tournament)

Ok. Also I have Castel2Castel and it's fun. And I was actually thinking of making a tropical island, with a base at each side, each base has a pirate ship vehicle with a driver seat and four gunner seats (old naval cannons from Late 1600's to Mid 1700's), for CTF instead of flags I could make treasure chests, oddball will still have it's skull (but with an eye-patch XD), cutlasses (pirate swords), and muskets. I was also thinking of making two pirate ships for each base with wooden planks that bridge the gap between them and stationary cannons to simulate pirates attacking and boarding another ship.

@Megaquirus Well I'll go with my second idea then.
@Mooseguy I never really planned on relying on other people for my maps anyway (if using their tagsets counts) I do enough relying on people in my everyday life (I'd rather not go there).

That model is better than any model I will ever do, I have experience with Blender 3D, and I'm absolutely terrible at modeling on that program.

3ds, which I need to get the program (I know where to go). By the way, I don't know which one is used for BSP's. (Check the second map idea, I've been told above that you can't have 4 weapons on a vehicle(cannons)) I'm going to experiment with various programs to see if I might be able to model myself, programs are different, 3ds may be easier than Blender 3D, don't send me the model yet, if I can make my own ship that I can consider it to be a not crappy ship, then I probably won't need the model. (I said that because I feel that I'm diving into modding too quickly, I'm getting a bit overwhelmed by my own topic (ironic isn't it))

Yes, but with any weapons other than the primary and secondary triggers, it will say in multiplayer the enemy was killed by the vehicle and not you.

You can have more than 1 weapon, but the Gunner will control all of them, also the super heavy scorpion used functions to control it's extra weapons, that's why you press buttons like Z, C, and Ctrl to use them.

Ok please stop with the turret weapons for vehicles. I've decided to go for my second idea in which the ships are bases floating in the ocean with stationary cannons I.E. no vehicles, no island, the ships have a 30 foot gap in between them. (See my first post)

hmmm... maybe some rowboats.... for boarding.. or to attack? The water should be... instant death if anyone falls into it (if that's possible)... a mini cannon that people can use and deploy....

put the island in the middle like you said, the gangplank idea will just create a point of impassable conflict. make a rowboat that allows the passenger to use his weapons. maake the bases the ships

I could use your idea and mine then. The one with the island is for CTF type game variants, the one with the planks for Slayer/Team Slayer type game variants. You're right about the point of impassable conflict, CTF would be pretty much impossible to play on it.

You could make the boats part of the bsp, and then just make the turrets actual vehicles, like the ones on this site, that are vehicles, but only the turret from the warthog.

Anyway, I had this idea a long time ago, I never got around to it though. I think it could turn out really good. If you make it you've definitely got my download.

I also have some ideas for easter eggs in each map. There will not be any secret rooms, these easter eggs will just be hidden in the maps.

I want to put the words "All Your Base Are Belong to Us!" hidden somewhere on the ground.

I also want to have a cave and if you keep going down to the bottom of the cave there will be a soundtrack which will just be me saying a couple of Chuck Norris jokes and this soundtrack will be a looping soundtrack.

You know, it may not matter if they sync for this idea to work. If you make them invincible and numerous then it wouldn’t matter if the AI on the client or server was syncing because the AI on the client would be doing the killing. Once the player is dead that syncs. The only issue is that the player may not always see the ai that is killing him and other players would see the AI sharks in different places but the end result would be the same the player would die.

when you make the ships, you should allow players to climb to the crows nest, and modelthe nest itself so it makes a good snipe spot

@Dennis I guess adding that is an option I should consider.

@Griff Snipe spot? I don't think weapons from the Late 1600's to Mid 1700's were accurate enough to have that kind of range. I did originally plan that you could go up to the crows nest, and I am still considering that, but in the age of Caribbean piracy there was no sniping.

how do u know? where u there? most of the muskets and rifles were 70+ caliber, aka a big freaking lead ball. pretty much its still sniping but really slow. also aiming down on someone is more likely to hit them then aiming up(aka point of the sniping spot, especially here) and id say theres only 200 feet(at max) between the ships, the muskets and long rifles could reach that. might deviate by about 3 or 4 inches. but u could probably hit the fat guys :P.
