I had the trailer shown at CE3, but I unfortunately didn't get to interview about this map, so it was kinda like this trailer out of nowhere, so anyway, here is the trailer in case anyone missed it:

This map is one of MP2SPMT's projects (yes we are alive :V) and I've sorta taken it own as my own personal project. I've done most of the work, including modelling and texturing (badly) the BSP's as well as populating a most of the script work, although Gamma and Polamee bothed helped contribute to a good amount of key scripts that really shaped the map into what it is right now. We've been secret about this for over a year now, since it was started back in April 2009, and it's just now nearing completion, so hopefully, I can get this out soon. Anyway, here is a wall of text about the map, it's got some cool features I think you'll enjoy.
Project: Innie:
Single Player map
You are a member of the 146th Force Recon division, an elite division of soldiers better than normal Marines, but not as good as ODST's. You are deployed on the moon Deimos, one of Mars' moons. There is a large Insurrectionist camp located in the desert. The UNSC had an informant reporting on their activities, but he was discovered and the Insurrectionists are holding him for ransom. Your mission is to infiltrate their base and rescue the informant.
This map has many special features:

Stealth based gameplay:
Don't alert enemies, or else they will call in backup
Use silenced weapons or you will be discovered

Varying difficulty:
The number of enemies in the map varies depending on how many enemies you alert. Alerting 1 squad will cause backup to assist that squad. Alerting 3 will cause a Pelican to come and drop off a new squad to fight you. Alerting 5 will cause a Pelican to come and drop off a Warthog full of enemies. Alerting 6 will make the exfiltration very hard, and alerting 7 will cause very bad things D:, additionally, the more enemies you alert also increases the amount of enemies later on in the level, as well as their awareness level.

Firefight style gameplay:
Certain parts of the level have you hold out for a set amount of time against waves of enemies until help can arrive.

Ambient wildlife:
Completely immerse yourself in the game with a variety of ambient wildlife AI, including fish, rats, and alien birds. Admire the spectacular wildlife of Deimos (or kill them, if you're an evil person :[)

Second, Elefants are slow, but we never forget.

I've been meaning to post an update since I started working on this over summer again. It's been 4 damn years working on this project. Seriously, the most accurate date I have is the last modified date of an old max save dated Nov 26, 2009. And, I've done it mostly alone (although Gamma was a huge help with the scripts, especially early on when I was learning scripting, seriously this project wouldn't have gotten off the ground if it wasn't for him), but it's nearing completion.
My most recent updates have been:

  • Portalled the whole first BSP (seriously this is huge because the first BSP has a buttload of stuff in it)

  • Added LODS on the more detailed scenery objects

  • Significant overhaul of the first BSP geometry (second BSP is up next).

  • Drastic lighting changes, dropped the blueish hue that was permeating everything, in favor of a more traditional warm brown/tan. Highlighted objectives with lights to draw player towards them.

  • Several AI tweaks to make the AI less stupid, as well as changes to several encounters to better utilize the environment for more dynamic encounters.

  • Addition of new enemy types, including MAKO drones and suicide bombers.

  • A few new vehicles, including jury-rigged truck cabs outfitted with chainguns and Pelicans with extended troop bays.

  • Multiple ambient life forms. Birds, Rats, Fish, Bugs, and Snails.



These are huge steps forward in the progress of the map. I've been without portals and LODS for 4 years now. The BSP is now not completely flat, which makes the map much more fun to look at and interact with.

Next few big items on the list are:

  • Overhaul all squad firing/start/move positions to work on the new BSP

  • Cinematic tweaks

  • Retool the ending battle

  • Work MAKO drones into more existing encounters

  • Fix scenery/firing position placement to prevent AI collision with scenery

  • Double check that all tvol placement doesn't conflict with BSP updates

I just finished the majority of the BSP update, so all I have is debug quality lightmaps for now. The second BSP isn't shown much either because it hasn't really been touched since I implemented it (meaning it is basically just an older version of ump-advantage, heh)

Here's some of the assets in the map, taken on my testmap because it's brighter.

Chaingun MAKO Drone




Rocket MAKO Drone


Hovers around squads of Innies, providing long range support. Moves faster than a Sentinel but is significantly less armored.

Suicide Innie:


He flails his arms around and makes a B-line towards you, before blowing both you and himself up in a large blast.

Innie Pelican:



You'll start to see these if you alert too many other squads of your position. They'll fly in and drop reinforcements near you. Some even have hastily tacked-on extended troop bays:



Other Innie Vehicles:
Mostly these are looted UNSC vehicles, although I am toying with the idea of some custom vehicles for the Innies.



You'll see these as well if you alert too many enemies, and they'll arrive full of troops, so it's best to stay low.

Some camera drones (dunno what I'll do with these, if anything, feel free to suggest stuff):


I thought it might be cool to have these guys patrolling the sky with big searchlights and they'd alert the nearest squad who'd then come and attack you.

Ambient Life:




Bugs, Shroom Slugs, and Mushrooms:

No hostile life yet, although that might change.

These don't have anything to do with Innie, but here's some other stuff I've been working on:
Lekgolo variant I'm thinking of using for an artillery role:

Some sentinel variants, each with their own (yet to be implemented) weapons/roles:

Far right one is just the normal Sentinel for comparison.

The project thing is getting kinda annoying, Lumoria's "project" is in the actual name, its not considered a "project". Its the project of what happened there.

Crap, you beat me to the punch. :|

I was thinking about making a campaign with rebels as the main enemy, because it had never been done before. Maybe I could help with this? I've still got most of my concepts and stuff from when I was working on mine.

Incredible work on everything except the biped... that's kinda... blarg. They've got the Halo 3 version on Halomaps, I think that'd be pretty good. And the Rebel Hogs could use a liiittle bit of work. The added plates just look like pieces of carboard they randomly attached to panels of the warthog. :P

also fix the visor of the biped, it kinda looks like a hazmat suit to me. well thats just me.

MP2SPMT is Multiplayer to Singleplayer Mapping Team which is a team Polamee started in 2008, as you can guess from the name it focused on taking MP maps and turning them into SP maps, but now we kinda just do whatever we want. And yeah the BSP is custom.

looks good but the ar looks terrible and same goes for the biped. Also it sounds corny in the story "better than marines but not as good as odst's"

Looks awesome, I like stealth maps, sounds like we can make it a real challenge for ourselves too by having the enemies call in support, a great idea!

I think new creations should be encouraged, not everyone's going to have the experience that veteran map makers will have, there seems to be an expectation of very high quality maps these days, some newer map authors may feel discouraged from learning the map making process, once this happens CE may begin to die as potential new map makers may not fill the void of those who move onto other things. Please use constructive criticism with praise.

I'm sick of the halo 1 assault rifle. As long as this ar is more accurate, has different sound tags and doesn't have the firing anims of the h1 ar, i guess its alright.

I've been waiting for this ever since CE3, and I love the BSP and cool warthog.

I think the stealth idea of the mission and the enemy "alertness level" is quite realistic. But... did the Insurrectionists have Pelicans? Unless they stole them from UNSC :O

As for the AR, I'm not sure but something dosen't seem right to me either...

I think the Assault Rifle should be swapped for a BR. If this is something centered around stealth and general sneakiness, I would imagine you'd want something a bit more precise, rather than a bullet-hose.

Use ODST's for the player and allied units, or do something about the current biped's helmet. They kinda look like welders' masks at the moment. :P

Maybe give the Insurrectionists a bit more variety in their appearance. I assume they'd be stealing and salvaging whatever equipment they could get their hands on, so not all of them would have full UNSC body armor. Maybe some permutations with missing plates?

We actively considered that but the Silenced AR (with increased accuracy) actively provides more flexibility and options since it can be used both as a medium ranged weapon or a close range rapid-fire arm.

On release dates and stuff: I can assure you that we will release this project, but I cannot place an actual date for sure due to factors like time limitations or lack of motivation. We've got a list of bugs we have to iron out, and until that's done, you can't expect a release.
