this question might only be able to be answered by kills alone, but here it goes: i am making sandbox from halo 3 and i really want a sky that looks as good as the rest of the map and i would like to know how to make a custom sky like in sandtrap v3, anyone know how

Duplicate an existing one and start tweaking it.

To hide pieces you don't need use the invisible.shader.

scenarios\objects\special\shaders

I dont think its plausible to create totaly new sky like you can for halo 1.
but you can made changes to duplicate of original.
1. duplicate .sky and .render model of your sky.
2. open .sky tag and make sure it uses your duplicate of render model.
3. open .render model and scroll down to materials tab, there are several materials.

now you can swap original shaders with custom ones.
if you dont want clouds ( or any other object ) apear then use transparent shader just like kills alone said.

can we rip skies from campaign or mp because the sky on burial mounds is perfect for bone yard v2

We can rip the textures and most of the settings.

The .render_models vary in size. I have not made a completely new one (like the new weapon models) but I do think it is possible. Eventually I mat try it out. You know I'll keep y'all posted if I do.

I tried making .render_model, but it didnt worked quite how I wanted.
sapien didnt crashed but sky was compleatly black. maybe something to do with size or settings in the tag file.

so the size of the render model varies, if your render model is bigger does that mean that objects really far away (like the towers on sandtrap) won't look weird?

how did you make the sky orange? is there a color setting somewhere in the render model?
