Hang Em High - No clue, I just love those ramp ways and such, would be awesome to see in future halo games.

Chill Out- It's not like those symmetrical maps I see in most games, it's completely different everywhere you go.

Death Island, because I've always liked the Silent Cartographer.
Prisoner, because it's a vertical map.

Death Island Because it was a tatical map, if you had a vehicle you could be easily killed if you were walking you could be easily killed. it had Strategy. it made you have to think where the enemy was and what they were doing before you rammed there base and took off with the flag. you had to watch out for tank patrol's the Shee's in the skies and of course that lunatic hog driver who flys from the top to the beach to chase you down. and the snipers. the map was desinged for an all out war zone!

Nope. I like Death Island, Infinity and Danger Canyon in that order.

Death Island because of the aerial battles, Infinity for the use of the hogs and danger canyon as a straight shooter with outdoor and indoor gun fights.

I love the look of the map Death Island, I just never liked it because it is tank campers heaven. It's a map that I love on CTF or TS with only hogs and ghosts though.

Gephyrophobia

like its creative design, have great memories of chasing the flag bearer when he's running on the upper corridors of the map, and shee runs on multiple levels.

wide area multi-level infantry and vehicular combat suits me most, so another candidate would be Death Island.

I forgot to post my favorite maps.
Well here are 2.

Bloodgulch: my first map ever played on Halo, these were the times when I joined my first game it closed down. But still I love that gameplay of the map.

Timberland: one of the best maps IMO, I liked this map because it doesn't include any aerial combat, and trapping tanks is my specialty here. Sniping is also and alternative strategy here because the map has trees covering it, coloring yourself green and grabbing a sniper rifle is a very good tactic in Slayer matches.

I like classic maps a lot too, but some of those newer classic style maps are just so good. I mean, look at Portent.Portent is such a good map. The design is flawless the gameplay is awesome, and the look of it, well it is truly something to behold if you ask me. Why does no one play it in 1.09? All the 1.00 servers on portent are usually empty or 1,000,000 ping. :(

considering that the map's size allows good gameplay with no less than 4 players, and the number of people in 1.09 compared to 1.00, and that few know how to appreciate good maps, I would understand why.

a 8v8 on that map is awesome, i once saw (and participated in) a halo match with 15 friends on portent, and we kept going for hours.
too bad it was the only time i saw portent's gameplay in full action.
