hello everyone, its me, Shadowslayer. some of you might remember me from last years "ascension firefight". i gave up on that project because i ran out of tagspace right as i was finishing it. well now im back with something much, much better. i present to you: Firefight Solitude



halo 3 hud and spartan, all messages will be cutscene titles, also, you see the "shadowslayer" title in the hud?, i am going to make 10 personal copies of the final to the first 10 who ask, it will feature their name in the place of "shadowslayer"



all troops will be brought in by phantoms. also a very special thanks to shade117 pro who helped me finalize the phantom.



there will be a total of 14 enemies in one phantom, with 2 phantoms every wave, so that 28 enemies every wave

i will be providing updates, and there will be a public beta as soon as i finish the first round.

credits:
shadowslayer: scripting, rigging

credit for the elite has been split into 3 parts
032 Mendicant Bias (yoko) did the shaders and the biped overall
Teh Lag: for helping and animating
me: for starting the idea

Shade117 Pro: helping me perfect the phantom, and other things
Bungie: for the bitmaps and models, and for creating halo, not just a game, but a way of life
Mothergoat: for creating one of the most perfect maps for firefights.
Bourrin: mastercheif shaders

anyone else i didnt mention, notify me and i will add you to the credits.

check often, because there will be lots of updates coming

if you think this will be easy, you are in for a world of hurt, because in this firefight:

Looks good. Perhaps I could have a personal copy when you finish? And it's about time I see some H3 phantoms. Is that an H3 Grunt in the last picture?

its not too bad really, i count in seconds exactly how long it takes for the phantom to touch down and open its doors, then i make a script that unloads it once the doors are open, and animating was done by shade, i did some anims first, but they sucked, so he helped me do em

The map itself looks very nice. It's good to see a dropship delivery system as well. I'm getting a definite "Reach" vibe from it....

Is there any way you can have random encounters? not the first and final waves but the waves in the middle should be randomized to make it more interesting.

im awake now, ive edited the first post to add the requests, since its really easy to make personal copies, ill bump it up to 15 if i get more requests. anyway, im in severe need of help on one issue, how can i make the ai seek the player out instead of me having to come to them

Tell the ai where the player is "Ai_magically_see_player" or something like that.

Solitude is a great map. I just wish i had a better computer for it. I have to run windowed mode at 640 res to play the map well at a good FPS.

ive added that into my script, but i think i did it too early, ill place that command after they exit the phantom instead of when they are first loaded into it

edit: that helped, but they only come to me when im close to them, if im far away, they ignore me, any way to fix this?

I am not pretty sure mendicant bias aka yoko aka feysal aka guilty spark made the elites shaders.

But i bet I know who made the masterchief shaders and bitmap edits. he's name starts with bour and finishies with rin.

Btw, i'd love to see the phantom insertion anim in game.

can you maybe add like two backup spartans that have like three respawns each? and maybe you can use those "smart" spartans that one guy was working on wack when. I got my own modified version of those if you want to do that. Just a suggestion

also if ur still doing the personal thing and u haven't got fifteen DO WANT....also can you make my player a cqb?cuz they r teh badass

I thought it was creative, at least you don't just collapse without any sound. Also in Ascension Firefight, I wish you would of been able to use the ammo packs.

I loved your ascension firefight mod back in MODACITY and i know why you quit. its cause alot of people said it was gay and stupid but i think it looks brilliant and look at you now this is a masterpiece and if those people in modacity say this is gay man i would SPAM their butt off

anyways can you send me the map i swear i would never leech/release it this is a master piece!!!

I only got the alpha build for the map so i could see my dropship anims.

And see what the phantom looked like ingame and as always, to have fun.
