It's Flame.

Everyone here is too immature, to have them waste their lives on here all day with noobs asking questions that have been answered several thousand times. And the lack of effort, not even to rips, to a point where they won't even download max, and want it done for them.

I made my account (MeleeLite) in 2007, been here since 2006, I remeber when it was productive, just go back a couple hundred pages.

That's why the people who know how to do things with HCE need to release tutorials. If somebody really cared, they would release a tutorial on their expertise.

I've learned everything I know about CE from tutorials on this website.
It's not a lack of tutorials, it's a lack of willingness to watch them.

Precisely the point I've been trying to make all this time.

There's a fewer and fewer amount of map makers nowadays, because less and less people have the devotion to work on it. Back in 08, when the generation from 07 began to decline, there was another generation to take over. One may argue that there's a new generation right now to take over from that old generation, but the thing is, they're devoting less and less time to learning how to make content, and more and more time to using other peoples' content. The fact is, when we leave CE, who'll make the content for them to use / rip? Bungie's not making any more Halo games, and everyone's going to depend on 343 Industries for new games. Most of them may leave CE because it's getting "boring", because they're running out of content to use.

The question is, if we armed the new generation with the information they need to develop CE content, would they actually take the time to learn it?

Halo CE may fall to people without experience, but that will not be for about a year or more.
Don't be so grave about this, guys.
There is still some great new content being made as we speak.
I will also be making a new tutorial soon on map lighting.

Don't forget the older members are getting older then when they first joined or w/e and there are more important things to do then just CE.

Because there's nothing promising being made anymore.

The community feels dead, forums aren't abuzz with much.

There's just a lot of cocky new people who don't know how to do anything, and annoy others to do so.

It's just...boring.

Not aiming to start another argument here, but, the new people that join almost all rip... so there isn't MUCH of a gain.

Yeah, I kind of agree... *cough*Docter p0*cough*
But at least stick around until mine and these other two guys' firefight maps are released.

But also, I still see great progress in the weapons thread. Geared and iHalo do some amazing work. But, ofc, they have been here longer than I.

To some extent, yes. But it still requires some knowledge of how to use the editing tools.

No original ideas therefore no willingness to learn. No willingness to learn = no motivation to work

i didnt necessarily give up, i just got bored.
halo stopped interesting me a long time ago. sure, i still lurk these forums from time to time, but i just dont have much to say anymore.
i never did anything very impressive, just a few basic maps using knowledge derived from some of the simple tutorials and some help from seasoned community members. i learned how to use the tools from tutorials available at this very site.
its been a long time since i messed with 3ds max or any of the halo ce tools; i have forgotten a lot of the process of making content.

Halo CUSTOM Edition. Thats why it's dying. people only copy halo 2, 3 or reach stuff without news ideas, we have overskilled modelers in the community who only copies already made things.

I have some concepts sleeping on paper, but considering i hate modeling, they arent modeled,(so i'll post the actual wip i have on the weapon thread), i can texture quite well and make decent shaders for actual tastes, all we need is an organised team who could give it a new life, like making a whole CUSTOM new HEK. Or someones edits enough halo custom edition to create a new graphic engine, at least. And inculde bump maps in gbxmodels

Modding a game should be for fun; people should do what they like, whether that be ripping stuff and converting it, messing with already made stuff within the editing kit, or making something from scratch. Why are people so touchy about this? The community is becoming less active because it's old. Stop blaming it on the new people.

Stop blaming it on the new people.

this never happened in 06/07. rippers never shared anything and never released anything and now that eternal lightnight and more skilled rippers are being total retards nothing is getting done. they complain they cant model, animate or use photoshop. use gmax as an excuse and say tutorials are confusing. they dont ask for help and when they do some of the vets troll them. its a combination of new and old people. mainly people stereo typing that all the new members are mexican rippers and know no effort. some new people are learning though and getting good at it. we need more mature members instead of the LUL U MAD people. its embaressing to say im part of th is modding comunity. as for originality its out there but no ones willing to put in the effort to make it. ive seen a good amount of good ideas posted in threads but really lazy people are lazy. meh, gammas right bout the generation crap tho i mean CE is doomed once all the vets leave.
