Johnson has a condition that he got from plasma grenades that renders him immune to the flood.

that is 1.) just a joke and 2.) they didn't realize that Johnson would a popular character. also why you can kill him in campaign.

lawl, Grunts, that was just an example explanation.

Apparently Johnson was a Spartan I and the (drugs) augmentations messed up something, rendering him immune to the flood as he was viewed as an improper host.

LOL xD

What da heck? In First Strike, it says that on Reach, he chucked a whole box of plasma grenades which has a radiation "side effect" that makes the flood view him as an improper host......

The flood didn't infect him because he is a SPARTAN I a.k.a ORION PROJECT, the physical/mental modifications, and from some side effect of that the flood won't or can't infect him. Problem Solved, the borens syndrom (Plasma Nades) is a cover story from O.N.I.

That's because of random permutations in the marine squads.

It's a literary device called a plothole, used when authors want something they can't logically have.

I think it said in the book that he got away with some pilot on a pelican and met up with the chief and proceeded to invade a covenant cruiser. I read all the books within a week, and about a year ago so I might be wrong.

You're right.
He has Boren's Syndrome, and a side-effect of that makes him unsuitable for infection forms to infect him.
Then he somehow got on Polaski's pelican and escaped Halo...

then he got killed for pissing off the light bulb.

Somehow, Sgt Stacker and Chips appeared in Halo 2/3/ODST even though they weren't on Polaski's pelican.

He doesn't have Boren's Syndrome, it's to do with the physical and mental augmentations bought on by ORION... i think anyway

^ That is correct.

From Halopedia:

"However, the Boren's Syndrome story (referred to as the "Paris/BS Spoof"), was a hoax to cover up Johnson's involvement in the ORION Project, and that his immunity to Flood infection is a result of the procedures performed on him to make him a SPARTAN-I."

I wonder why they didn't do it for SPARTAN-IIs and IIIs.

1. their armour protected them.
2. It was an accident in happened in the first place.

Haha, you fell for my pink mist.

1. If their armour was ripped/torn/broken apart by anything, then the immunity-from-infection thing would be useful.

2. They were side effects caused by the augmentations.
