Ahoy ye stinkin scallywags.
Gaze upon me booty, lads...


Here be the rest of me BSP. The shaders be damned to Davy Jones' Locker.

(As you can see, I can't UVW the bases very well, and I'm not even sure if I've got the right bitmaps on the right parts. If anyone has all the Valhalla base bitmaps, I would gladly accept them)

Firefight: Still looking for Halo 2 weapon set.
Standoff: Who wants to texture this? Apparently nobody, because they think I'm insane for using editable mesh.

where did you get the valhalla bsp?

and texturing standoff shouldn't take too long, i'll give it a go, but please in the future use editable poly:)

The bases look like they aren't wide enough.

That BSP is certainly not fail.
It looks accurate to the vertex. custom or ripped?

Um, no. Compare it to the other Valhalla bsp's that there are (http://hce.halomaps.org/index.cfm?search=valhalla (3 are mods of existing bad bsps, 2 are absolutely terrible, and 2 are leaks from an old Sigma map) ). This one is better modelled and more accurate than they are by a loooong shot. Also he stated in his first post that the textures were placeholder.

So if your the elite, who are you fighting? Flood, humans, ect
This would be one of the few firefights where you don't fight the covenant.

In Slappy's firefight, you are the Arbiter, and you are fighting Heretic covenant, as well as sentinels.
Fighting humans on his map would just be cheesy, and I think it is more fun the way he already has it.
Plus, who wants to fight humans in a firefight? Do you know how repetitive and boring that is?
Someone made a bloodgulch mod once where you fight humans in a firefight, and it was so boring.

So.... yeah. You get my point. Also, his firefight could be called the smallest firefight map to date.

Funny thing about that, actually.
Me and Slappy are actually working together to help out each other's firefights.
It is a cooperative effort. The object is not to be "better" than another map, it is to have maps which are both fun to play. Map making has never been a competition.
Also, I respect him for making a custom bsp for his map, like I have done. It gives these maps a sort of connection, if you will.

But I get your point. As long as there is some variance to the human stuff.
My map as well, though, is impossible to do this with, because humans don't come out of a covie ship lol.

Can you give us a better size reference? You don't have to I guess. Up to you. Just put a MC model next to it.

Unwrapping looks pretty meh man. The architecture looks alright though. I would suggest using the default Halo textures. More variety to choose from then custom textures.

Valhalla shader_environments are still a FREAKING DISASTER. My bitmap alphas are all messed up, and ingame it still looks like crap.

Well, I have just finished moving, just settled in my new house., my PC just got unpacked, I can get back to UV help with the bases, and BSP texturing, just send me the BSP in msg, I'll start ripping the textures, when I get comfortable with my PC (very weird setup) also, you fixed my bases? :D Happy sight there!
