There isn't a johnson biped, so how i do i put him into my maps?

There's an actor variant Johnson.
He is marine major or maybe armoured major
But if u are talking about bipeds, nuh dunno

You can use an encounter with a single marine in it.
Then make that encounter use the leader type only.
Done.

Didn't you post a topic earlier asking how to use the Johnson biped? O.o

Edit: Just saw your response in the other thread. Are you sure you modified the marine_armored.gbxmodel, and not the normal marine?

yes i am completely sure.

my debug for johnson biped but whatever i'll just have to go the long way around to use johnson.

That's strange. It works for me O.o



I've uploaded a modified gbxmodel (with all other perms deleted), and the .biped.
Put both in the tags\characters\marine_armored folder.

yay! it works! but just one thing.

it says model marine armored johnson and collision model marine armored don't match or something....

the model 'characters\marine_armored\johnson' and the collision model 'characters\marine_armored\marine_armored' don't match (region counts don't match)
the object 'characters\marine_armored\johnson' will not be collidable

Are you sure you're using my biped and my gbxmodel? I've triple checked it, and it works flawlessly.

maybe it's my marine armored... i'll have to check it

edit: I've overwritten my old marine armored with a new one i downloaded and sure enough it worked. Thanks!!!!!

Copy marine_armored assault rifle.actor_variant, and paste it. Rename the copy to something like johnson assault rifle.actor_variant. Open the copy. At the top, where it says "unit", change marine_armored.biped to johnson.biped.

Yet, the included model animations are 4 kb, and the ones for a standard marine are 949 kb? I'm not sure whether the cinematic model for Johnson is rigged for marine bones, but if it is, then it would be no problem to reference the combat model animations and copy over values from a standard marine biped such that it would behave correctly in combat.

It IS from a10, but you'd have to make sure that the rig for the cinematic model matches that of the standard marine. Even if it did, you'd have to modify the biped such that it works for COMBAT rather than CINEMATICS. In either case, the issue was already resolved, so I don't really see why this matters :\

you know how i said my problem was fixed a looooong time ago?
yeah, well, it isn't completely 100% fixed. when i spawn the actor variant, sometimes it's johnson, and sometimes it just another marine dude. i've checked the biped, gbx model, actor varient, but it all says that johnson should be there 100% of the time, but it's not. suggestions please?

nvm. i don't know if still 100% fixed though, but it's most likely it is. i just duplicated the assault rifle marine major.actor variant and changed the biped to johnson again before saving the johnson assault rifle.

nope, it's not fixed. but the random marine dude shows up much less now. I guess I'll just have to live with it.
