weird,try going to edit at the top in your 3d modeling programe then go the bottom of that list and and click on object properties,make sure the box marked backface cull is checked.if thats not the problem then check this video out and make sure everything was done correctly...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1gyoQxGPb54

You don't need any type of converter app for the core CE or PC maps. All you need is the app Sparkedit. You can choose which bsp section to export and view. The only thing you should ever have to do in 3dsmax, is flip all the faces. As for CE maps, you can use the H2X app Entity, to export all bsp meshes. Same flipping thing as before is required as well.
