Ask the people that made it.
Say please.
If they say no then deal with it and make it your self.
Problem solved.

Does it honestly look like I really care that much about my reputation in this community?

Also considering the fact you made a new account just to say all of that, I think my reputation is doing alright

Alright I'll give you one last push in the right direction *cough Lumoria *cough
I will say no more, it's time you step up and act like a man!

You act and seem like none of the people I've ever worked close too, not to mention I pretty much still talk to most people on the old Lumoria team.

Also considering the fact that if you worked next to me closely it would be easy to tell who you are!

Stealing art is still stealing art whether it's legal or not.

pirating 3ds max and photoshop is stealing software and illegal on a federal level whether you think the companies overprice it or not

thank you for stating the obvious?

I know right

it's so painfully, blatantly obvious you'd think people would be able to avoid double standard-ness

kinda funny how that doesn't happen though ain't it

OH YAY! We're seriously doing this again!!!

For the 1 billionth time!

It's simple, if you put it into the halo engine, even if it's only on your PC, it is now officially Microsoft's property even though it is on your computer. No matter where it goes after that also doesn't matter. Still owned by Microsoft.
Whether Microsoft doesn't care about what we put in halo also doesn't matter.
Any ethical issues do not matter. (ethics are not law)
Any "aw come on man" issues don't matter.

Basic property issues are as follows.

If you think up an idea it is your property.
If you take this idea, don't have a patent, and verbally communicate the idea to someone, no longer your property necessarily if that person wants to do something with it.
If you own the necessary program, meaning bought the full version that says you can sell your stuff in the terms and agreements, then you own what you make and can sell or do what you want with it (I think).
If you try and sell something on a student version of ANYTHING, you may get in trouble, anything made on those is NOT your property and I am positive it is stated in terms and agreements of probably all student version programs.

Basically, with the budgets I am sure MOST people here have and the fact the items in question are wanting to be ripped from user created content ingamed to halo, no ownership issues can possibly arise here unless you happen to be making millions of dollars because you are the owners of the Halo franchise in which case, qwitchurbitchin.

He is right, but just use caution when doing these things. About a year ago, i did this to OpsY's maps, and HE GOT PISSED. He posted a newspost on his xfire page, "RPG_Beta" that he would quit mapping because of me. There was 4+ pages of hate, and some people started a HATE clan aganst me for him quitting. They stalked my sister's facebook, they threatned hacks aganst me, and they all stopped after i apologized to OpsY publically.

I recommend you watch your actions, and do not go down the path i did.

Hahaha "lodeman".
He used to be cool and I enjoyed his humor. Too bad he became a dad and stopped with halomaps.

I can honestly say that you stole many ideas, level designs, textures etc.

Everything that was used in Lumoria that wasn't created by us was credited to others, so I'm not sure how thats stealing.

Also once again you neglect to even become specific.

someone quitting because their stuff got jacked?

let them quit. they obviously weren't doing it for the thrill of creating or the desire to gain skills if they're willing to drop out because someone's taking their assets. odds are they just wanted popularity and e-fame

More like the odd's are the person just felt like their work has just been yoinked out their hands with no say in the matter.
Plus the fact that, when they've made the effort to make something nice barely anyone in the CE community has even reached half way in their puberty left alone grown a hairy pair and learned how to respect others works.

The person who stole the tags is probably the one you're referring to in terms of E-fame, the only reason anyone would be developing for this game now is either for nostalgic reasons, haven't bothered learning newer engines or enjoys making things for this game and when someone outright steals their work they feel let down.

Considering how challenged the majority the CE community is I'm astounded that it has managed to persevere this long.
I would have thought it would have self destructed by now.

I myself am starting to wonder whether there is any point in my self contributing anything to the community after reading the comments in this thread and others and seeing the blatant disregard for anyone else's work.

One last thing, I'm fully expecting Dennis to drop by mentioning how "anything" compiled through the editing kit or themed with this game is IP of it's creators, the IP is how ever the physical data and effort used in creating the data is not and never will be.
The contract set out in the EULA is a assumed agreement contract, there is no physical proof on the side of the contract maker that the terms were agreed to, for more evidence look no further than the Iphone and Jailbreaking.

{Edit:why is this post acting as though it is a quote when it obviously is not?]

although I would not over generalize there is one thing to note and that is;
Australia started out as a prison island where convicts were sent to, what doe's that say about the USA?

It says nothing about the USA.
It only relates to Australia and Great Britain.

I'm sorry, you are?
So far I've not seen you actually serve any purpose on this forum other than to mimic the site owner something which, last I saw was a suspend-able offense.
You're comments playing the devils advocate do not pertain to this discussion nor do they contribute to the thread at hand.
Please refrain from attempting to assert authority you do not possess.

Not entirely, No.
I find it interesting how there is such a societal difference considering the backbone of the Australian and "American" culture both were born from near the same places.
I'm not going to go in depth on my personal opinion as it would be futile to say the least.
My comment was based on the Custom edition community has a whole, Not one nationality of the community.
This community seems very troubled and if it doesn't pull it self together I cannot see it being around for another 10 years.

Naa, in Australia, Scottish and Irish criminals were forcefully employed (owned) by English lords/land owners.
In Canada, they were free to pioneer their own lands, and prosper.
