I promised I'd get this out before the month ended, so I stayed true to that word (first time in a while!). This was and still was a major WIP but Gamma and I are far too lazy to fix something that really can't be fixed. The gameplay is flawed, the story and map never really turned out to be how we wanted it to be but people were expressing interest in playing nonetheless so...here you go.

The SMG animations in the map are slightly older as well and the map's open sourced so I decided to just release the raw animation files in 3ds Max 8 format for everyone.

Hurrah for more custom single player levels!
It's based on Quagmire so it's not "technically" custom n_n

You have to approach from the left side at the end of the level I've figured out, or else it loops like you said.
Also you can use the Battle Rifle tag if you manage to get it (like I said, this was supposed to be open sourced but apparently it wasn't...). Broke added the attachments and animated it, though I reanimated the left arm in the grenade toss to be more Halo because originally it was a flashbang throw from CoD.

Nope, it uses Quagmire's BSP but with some scenery added in. The rain gives it an "open world" feel but if you turn that off and the fog, it's actually a pretty linear level. The atmosphere is neat, but as I keep repeating: the overall gameplay and story are kind of broken. Shame we got lazy.

No worries guys, once I get home from school today I'll release the source tags.

Well all I have is the tac rifle and odst magnum.

HUD was an experiment and has since been deleted. Keep in mind that that map build is about a year old.

Also, before people go ripping the (old) br from the map, remember that it's a year old and it has since seen some improvements. We don't want more than one version out there, so if you rip, that's all you're going to be stuck with. Otherwise, refer to the red text.

Doesn't matter, just don't hand that version out to anyone. As I said, I'll release the good one when I get home (at school using web filters).

I tried 4 times, couldn't get past the first three patrols without the map sticking its finger in a light socket. One time it saved, then a cutscene started, then mid-cutscene the map reverted back to the start, rinse repeat.

I know you didn't release it by your own decision, it was the majority of people talking to you that convinced you to, but I just don't think you should have released it in general. Hardly any content to be honest, and buggy at that. Just my two cents :L

level wasn't playable all the way through for me due to constant checkpoint and cutscene errors similar to the ones described in the above post

I didn't really like the level, but then again I generally hate stealth missions of any kind

It was fun, but had serious technical issues:

-The cutscene where the Elite kills the ODST saves the checkpoint and then continues in a loop. I don't know if this was meant mean game_over, but I had to restart the map.

-There's an exception sometime through the map; it caused my computer to freeze (DAMMIT WINDOWS 7!).

As far as gameplay, it was fun at first, but the encounters were repetitive and were simply just patrols of 5-7 grunts with 2 jackals and occasionally an Elite with super sticking capabilities. There was little scenery on the bridge before the cutscene and a lot of the patrols lacked scenery to support their existence, though there were some that definitely accomplished that. If you plan on fixing the bugs, I hope you make it so that any grunt/elite can jump into the Shade turrets; too many mods have fallen short simply because enemies aren't privileged with the ability to use their own turrets beyond their scripted drivers.

This mod is best described as a Michael Bay film; tremendously awesome visuals (seriously, you guys outdid yourselves here) with hollow gameplay schematics (patrols were redundant and all weapons required was spamming the trigger). But good job on the AI; it was definitely not one to underestimate.

Don't approach the end of the level front-on or it'll do that checkpoint bug. Approach from the left side and you'll be fine.

In terms of other bugs and crashes...neither Gamma nor I encountered anything of the sort save for one time but I was messing with dev commands and such.

Edit: Overall though I'm getting sick and tired of everyone whining. You know what, if you people are seriously this ungrateful for anything I think I'll just keep everything to myself from now on. Yes it was buggy, but I still actually released it unlike most other people. It still works fine to a point, and my original intentions were really to get the tags out but unfortunately it was somehow protected. Thanks to Jesse though you'll be getting some of them, and the raw SMG animations are out as well thanks to me.

(Probably will make some mistakes in credit here but it's been a year, cut me some slack)
The grenade particle effects are either Mythril's or Broke's, not sure but they would be considered "ours" since we all semi-share our content around.

The HUD is Jesse's/Gamma's, not sure exactly but probably mostly Jesse.

The rig is obviously Bungie's, but most all the animations were done by me or IMBrokeRU at one point or another, with maybe 2 or 3 coming from CMT (Teh Lag).

All scripting and encounters were done by Gamma. The rain was edited by him (or I did a bit, not sure), and the music he put in but it's obviously from MW2.

Overall though none of it was "really" made for the map, kind of just us shoving things into it as a general idea that didn't get too far.

I think it used to happen to me. Might be why I stopped playing it.

Here is the Tactical Battle Rifle link:

Author: Gamma927, Jesse7770, and ImBrokeRU

Credits: ImBrokeRU for his animations, Gamma927 for the sounds and painstakingly piecing the gun together (rails, silencer, red dot, flashlight).
Infinity Ward for their Silencer, Red Dot Sight, and rails model\textures.
Jesse7770 for final tag streamlining, and HUD (not released yet).
ODX for any possible fixes that went into, or will go into the animations.

Bugs:
Non-empty reload takes about a second for the rounds inside the mag to register (says 00 for a half second after reload animation is done).
Obviously you can't actually use the Red Dot Sight.
The 3P model is the regular H3 Battle Rifle model.

Here is the Socom Magnum (ODST mag).

http://www.mediafire.com/?1kgru60cftg1w66
Uploaded to Halomaps already.

Quote: --- Original message by: jesse
Author: Gamma927

Credits: Gamma for rigging and getting it ingame and started.
ODX for animating it (animations were also used for CMT's silenced Pistol for MPG3).
Jesse7770 for smoothing out small errors (I didn't do anything noteworthy though).
Snake Kirby for adding the green dots where the planes (for the model) didn't exist.

Bugs:
When you fire, the green dots disappear.

To install, just drag the contents of the folder into your tagset. You must create your own Item_collection tag.

Pics:

SMG may be next, and yes, expect to see much more in the near future.
