Some things just don't work...

As you all know, I started off making one of the original in what was to be a swarm of Reach teams. Due to lack of time and effort, and skill on my part, it failed miserably. I'm still doing a couple of things solo, and created this thread as a summary of all of the community's Reach stuff so far. Sorry for lack of credit, but I can't be bothered to go and look up all of the creators again.

Weapons:

Plasma Launcher




Spartan Laser



Needle Rifle




Plasma Pistol


Assault Rifle






DMR



Magnum



Sniper rifle



And the rest is mainly Halo 3.

If you want I could go into HUDs, maps, vehicles and bipeds.........

Ah well. Did I miss anything, or is that it so far apart from h3 stuff?

Edit: Doh, it didnt do the shotgun or nade launcher. Meh, I'll do it with the next block.

I know I know! I promised to have the animations for this out like, 2 weeks ago or something but one of the reloads got corrupted so I got discouraged. I'll do it now though and add some more stuff.

Unfinished? It looks fine aside from a somewhat "clean" texture. Otherwise I love the thing.

By unfinished I meant no good animations and crappy ingame shaders. We WERE going to release a V2 but I went dormant and moses left (dunno if hes coming back any time soon.)

Ignore the AR since people made better ones. Its about the Grenade Launcher anyways. Hunter's model put in-game for tagging purposes. Still incomplete. I don't know if it ever will be complete. The model still needs to be textured and actually animated by someone (I have failed to do both myself since I haven't messed with it for several months).

I didn't know someone actually in-gamed it. Lol, sorry, I'll put stuff in during the next update. If you contact Cheddars, I believe he textured the model. Looks sweet btw DarkHalo, that reload animation mustve taken a while. Just wondering, has anyone made EMP for Halo CE, 'cos it's used quite a lot in Reach. And by that I don't mean something like the pistol overcharge that takes down shields, but something which disables vehicles. I don't think the CE power drainer did that.

halo custom edition: a place where those who love halo come to make things for er, custom edition, for example custom made weapons, vehicles, new ideas etc.


but wait, reach? strange how this place called custom edition has been taken over by copys of this game, same happened with halo 3 and halo 2.

custom ideas have left and what is already made and in game is remade remade remade pffff so boring, i remember when people had ideas for the game (custom ideas) peoples own designs.

I don't particularly remember people having custom ideas aside from CMT and Sigma (anything worth noting, at least). The community has always revolved around the most recently released Halo game and that's how it'll probably remain.

@strangebrew: You're a nuisance and an annoyance who provides nothing to the table at all. Just because it says "Custom Edition" doesn't mean EVERYTHING has to be custom from scratch. Custom=customize and people are customizing CE with the items they want customize it with, which in this case is Reach weapons. You're seriously trolling, so knock it off.

It's a quirky method for disabling vehicles so I've heard (if it was actually successful).

The anims on the GL in the videos are all Bungie animations. However, ODX *coughcoughcough* needs to contact me on xfire so we can discuss those anims.

As far as the tagging progressed, I was trying to work on a way to allow remote detonation using the properties of these tags:

I didn't explore it all that much though, but in theory it could work as long as people have different .item_collections for different GLs across their maps.

I was also never able to have the GL bounce once and then explode. I'll need to look at some tags that utilize that same property though and go from there. The problem wasn't so much that bouncing was difficult, but it was more of the timer detonation; it wasn't possible to shoot a grenade and have the timer start after it hit a surface unless you used the 'create projectile on contact with surface' method, which I heard is buggy and unwieldy.

All I have is a firing and a ready, and you'd have to make a .gbxmodel from my rigged model as well and all this other crap. I'm far too busy trying to finish the Reach pistol as well as the CMT weapons (which aren't even for CMT anymore).

stuff made and designed by the community of halomaps.
just think about it.

You'll see something custom soon, now that you mention it. Overall, though, my work is needed is the field I'm modding in, which is (halo 3) bsp work.
What's your modeling ability, or... any ability?

i can assure you i can model.
but i do however prefer my own ideas and designs so maybe your not into that sort of thing, especially with being used to working on things that are there in front of you, refs, ingame pic's etc.

ideas come from within.

the difference between making something from your own idea and just copying something is quite different in the way of satisfaction.

i may just show what sort of things i model from my own ideas, but keep in mind i will not
show everything i'm working on. some ideas are for a different game engine, and the models would have to be lower poly to suit this engine.

obviously i will make my own thread for this.


but yeah custom, makes custom edition stand out.
