Built mine for $650. Runs W7. Runs Halo at 1100 FPS at lowest settings, and at 120 FPS at highest.

I have the Nvidia Geforce GTX 465 (basically a 460). You shouldn't need anything fancy to run Halo, though. Any card on the market today would probably run significantly better than your current one.

Yeah, what Colt3r said. Your OS can't do that much to help you out if your hardware is from 2006 :P
Everything runs beautifully on my machine, but then again, it is a pretty legit pc and is just under a year old.

On my CE, all the bitmaps are weird. Might be the Intel Media Accelerator HD cr4p video card.

My Vaio laptop uses a lower grade integrated graphics, and Halo looks fine.

My PC can run W7 64bit with halo fine. I prefer XP still, but I can use W7. almost exactly 3 years ago, 2000 dollars for my PC. quad core, 8GB ddr2 ram, etc. I can run sapien, 3dsmax, photoshop, halo, teamviewer, 720p videos, etc, all at once without any issues.

On topic, check halomods for the newest info and videos.

Just had a cool accident with a new app we have. Many of our maps have corrupted firing positions in our squads due to the use of an older HEK+, so our new app is suppose to copy over the right values into the squads. Instead, it did that, plus restored the original encounters before we made edits. A50 with it's original encounters feels so much more boring and repetitive, it's amazing how much having things like the elites with carbines and brutes changes things. The Brutes in their current form really do add to the game, so those of you who fear the addition of them have nothing to worry about, they really do make the game much much better.

Thats all it does, it's not something thats going to be released as there are tag extractors that are public that will rip scenario tags accurately. No one else is using scenario tags that predate HEK+.

Are you going to fix b40, because whenever I switch to the bsp, there are no enemies, and I can't switch successfully again. A big flaw.

Also, are you going to make a10 better? Some ofthose parts are really boring. No offense.

When the B40 mod is released I assure you it will not have those problems. What you've been playing is an unfinished beta that was released when the team fell apart. Obviously we will not be making releases that are broken (and obviously if the team had still been active we wouldn't have released a broken level, people were just hounding us to release *something* so we gave them what we had). Ditto for A10, the team realized that some parts of the SPV2 mod were a bit too much, and we're going to be seriously cutting down on useless/boring crap we added.

CMT SPV3 - Shotgun Redux; Needler & Plasma Pistol Update

Needler changes:
-Re-tooled ready motion to add more "swing"

-Added slightly more bounce to reload
-Added progressive movement to needles rather than snap-out on reload
-Slowed down melee
-Tweaked throwing arm in grenade animation

Plasma Pistol changes:
-Decreased snappiness in ready
-Fixed thumb in ready
-Added heat-cover movement to ready
-Decreased snappiness in pose
-Reduced amount of recoil on fire
-Reduced amount of recoil on overheat
-Tweaked melee gun movement
-Tweaked throwing arm in grenade animation

I dig the plasma pistol animations, but not the shotgun firing. Needler reload is great but feels like a reach style animation (thinking the needle rifle.)

One thing came to my mind the other day...
You are going to remake the Masterchief armor right?
The SPV2's one seemed to... bulky and complex (probably not the right words...)

Whew, this is so awesome I actually have nothing to crit on apart from that little, uh, "snap" the left hand's fingers have on the shotgun's reload-empty when getting back from the reloading chamber and on to the pump action (as if the hand opens too late and thus too fast). Well, the plasma pistol is now perfected imo, and the needler is even more awesome than it was in the previous video, which I truly couldn't have believed as possible. Keep it up!

I think the cmt armor is fine and Im going to say this even though masterz hasnt announced it because im releasing it soon. The biped issue for bad graphics has been fixed.

Prob is, they think they max it out, then they discover new techniques and sutff. It will be a long time till it ends. They'll keep discoverign ways to do things, and they'll keep doing it.

SPV2 Pushed it as far as we really could, although we've discovered some new things about tagspace which could have helped us back then. With OS what we can do is really limitless as long as you have the right people. It's a shame the community can't draw in more people with it, because a fresh group of programmers interested in using OS could really turn this game upside down.

Oh and our biped is staying, IMO it's the best revision of the H1 chief out there, and he doesn't even have normals or specular maps yet.
