For single player I would love to see a legit support mission where a massive battle is happening and the player is taking out 'primary' targets (vehicles, gold Elites, etc.)

keypad doors that you can actually use the keypads on(manually enter codes).

Rideable creatures like the blindWolf that are actually SENTIENT and don't have their AI deleted upon riding them.

pepper spray that makes use of cinematic_screen_effect_set_convolution.

TRUE flyable vehicles that can strafe.

healable body barts.

bump mapped shader_plasmas.

multiple skies in ONE BSP (confirmed: just use names like +sky0, +sky1, +sky2, etc. and make sure they are in different clusters. I do this in almost all of my maps. I've yet to see people who actually make maps FOR THE PUBLIC use this trick though ^-^).

vehicle interactions that DON'T use damage_effect tags that rarely sync if at all.

ANOTHER flyable 16 person vehicle that won't take 7 years to make and release ⌐_⌐.

lockable doors(without using a separate device_control).

lockable vehicles(and you can even choose what doors to lock so nobody can drive/gun/ride as passenger).

doors that require a card key(like MGS).

cooperative play.

a LAN version of the netcode because Halo PC and CE only have an internet version of it due to time constraints.

BUILTIN camouflage support for NVIDIA users that won't screw up online chat text and doesn't require an external app(besides Open Sauce), AND won't break support of xfire or FRAPS.

AntiAliasing support(well... it IS crazy impossible since Halo Custom Edition uses FastShaders that ignore the API).

being able to post images in online chat.

Kinect control(I dunno if you think the idea of this sounds crazy: but I actually think this is possible 0_o).

Download map upon joining.

Play music from your computer without switching out.

BUILTIN voice support.

support for the Games for Windows Live™ guide-button bar so you don't have to switch out to chat to people who are on xbox live or windows live.

grabbable non weapon items for throwing/putting/placing/dropping.

droppable weapons.

lowerable weapons that don't replace the crouch function or any other needed controls.

FACIAL EXPRESSION and GESTURES that sync online that don't replace other needed controls(and can be used to interact with NPCs in campaign).

a mission where you gun a warthog among like 5 scorpions, 10 mongooses with gunners, 8 other hogs, and aircraft likes hawks hornets and pelicans against an army of ghosts, wraiths banshees, snipers in towers and on perches like cliffs, a few scarabs, turrets (both shade and plasma), choppers, spectres, shadows, and occasional dropships. Then you lay siege to a covenant base in an epic infantry battle (you with marines against ghosts, drones, hunters, other infantry units, turrets and maybe long ranged wraiths) with tanks backing you up from a distance. Then once the base is destroyed you take a hawk or hornet and escort the pelicans away in an epic dogfight with aa wraiths, turrets, and infantry firing from the ground.

Oh yeah, and a grizzly tank in CE

but yeah I've been playing around with the idea of a blind wolf since I started halo.
I'd love to see that in halo somewhere.

Boats for sure. Not really impossible, but current "boat" physics leave a lot to be desired.
I'm assuming this is for spv3, so I think it would be really cool to implement the Doozy into b30 somehow.

E: I'd also like to see vehicles that you can stand on without dying.
I know it's already been done with device machines, but that's only up to a certain speed and it's probably a bit buggy.

Incorporating h2-esque Fresnel/distortion (non-AC) into CE's shader repertoire. After that, making Halo 2 water shaders.

And more (unrealistically) ragdoll and other havok things from halo 2.

Basically turn Halo 1's engine into Halo 2's.

I mean, you said crazy impossible ideas.

Anyway...

Streaming multiplayer maps(Using admin, you should be able to set which maps are combined with the original map. So that you can get on a prowler for example, and click a button to fly to another map without changing weps or bipeds. This'd be awesome for rpers. Obviously though, you'd need a way to change costumes if you changed climate).

A sniper that actually fires properly, and doesn't leave trails of smoke towards your enemy. And forcing anti-armour snipers to be set up on tripod thingies.

A giant space base, that's a hundred times the size of the POA, and has interactive NPCs, and can be flown to different galaxies. It should also have pelican bays, lifepod bays, warthog(with parachutes) bays, and orbital drop pod(or whatever they're called) bays.

Realistic(but futuristic) cars that don't have insane physics, but just go faster than today's cars, and don't leave trails of smoke.

Completely refined sound effects and music.

It's not that hard, just make your scenery like you normally would, then just put in a vehicle tag and use some stock physics (or make your own)

I actually have a version of tool which is suppose to let you give scenery physics without making it a vehicle, it's for compiling pc maps though, not CE :(.

Depending on weather the OS bumpmap options are only in shader_model and shader_enviroment, or everything, I should be able to make water that reacts to 1 object easily.

Hows that impossible?.. just make a enemy army so big that you cannot defeat them all, and just put nav points on certain objects while checking those objects health's.

Keypad - multiple devices, each string says the number. script has a sleep_until, where if it hits the correct number, continue to the next sleep_until, if not, go to the top and mb an ai_place for entering the wrong info.

riding smart AI - if you want to have any control, your gonna have to swap between whose controling it

pepper spray - will work fine in SP, using cinematic effects will encounter issues in multiplayer without OS to identify local player.

strafing flying vehicles - I'm sorry to tell you, but I did that a few months back.. I even explained a few times how to do it.

healing body "b"arts - (object_set_permutation <object> <string> <string>)

shader plasma - ... you realize that when applied as a modifier, it takes the shape below it, right?

Skys - Why do you want the sky to suddenly change when walking around?.. you even explained how to do it, so idk how its so impossible.

vehicles - ... wat?.. tell me the last time that driving your warthog relied on damage_effects..

flying vehicle - *open banshee, go to seat block, click duplicate 15 times*

Locking doors - So.. how do you want to control the lock? you want to drive a vehicle into a place to lock it? you've said what you don't want, but that doesn't explain anything. for all we know, you could want something that locks if someone with a pistol walks through it.

locking vehicles - (unit_set_enterable_by_player <unit> <boolean>)

key doors - volume_test + unit_has_weapon_readied.

Coop - mah zombie map was coop. Sure, the only objective was to survive, but you never said anything other than coop.

lan netcode - you do realize that when your on lan, it still tells those clients where vehicles are, right?...

Camo - OS already has given my camo fix, and I talk to my xfire friends fine, just not in xfire (pidgin, ftw)

AA - develop either a postprocess for OS, or mess with sauce (actually, I should try turning AA on now that I have OS installed to see what happens lol)

images - thats called IM programs, try one.

kinect - get the drivers that people have been developing, and see what options it has. It probably has things where you can make leaning forward into a W button, etc.

download - I'm getting to lazy to keep answering these... h2v.

music - start it before playing, and get one of those keyboards with music control

voice - IM software, try it.

Live - .... this statement fills me with great rage. I would love to get that crap the hell out of my H2V

picking items up - Done that for forge long time ago, + the Sonic Online mod, when there was gonna be the Chao mode. I had it so you could pick them up, plus bring them items. then they could pick things up too.

droppable weapons - make weapons destroyable, make destroyed effect create new gun, make function that causes enough damage to destroy it.

lowering weapons - you know.. I can aim at my feet with my gun. I say I lowered it just fine.

face gestures - Because obviously you can see through that solid helmet.

Boats - all my tests with them say that most people wont like them. They work, but you might just randomly die or go flying mid drive.

stand on vehicles - make vehicles move at 0.01, problem solved.

releasing things - Its not impossible, just improbable.

walking fridge - make biped.

nukes - make giant explosion.

multi-maps - place multiple maps as one.

sniper - just remove contrail. And make a turret for the tripod (or, make it unable to fire, and have it so if you have it your flashlight button moves the turret to you to enter, where you can then fire)

ship - change BSPs to change locations, warthog parachutte - just make it have more friction in air, and make the vehicle heavier than parachutte.

fast cars - increase speed to 99999999999

sounds - tool sounds sound\music ogg 41000

The vehicles and bipeds cast shadows, but only in specific directions, I don't think that dynamic lights change the direction the shadow falls in Halo.

Bump Possession enabled in multiplayer, but tracks scores individually, and not of the hosted biped, meaning player number never switches to the hosted bipeds player number.

Oddball on a small map - would be awesome, you possess the holder of the ball by bumping into them and/or killing them.

Multiple sequential bipeds with different abilities. Example, biped 1 is walking/unarmed- fist fighting (with new anims) , biped 2 is walking armored, gains weapons. Biped 3 armor abilities. Biped 4 converts to flying vehicle (horizontal like Iron Man) and fires weapons, can hover horizontal and fire, can land and become walking fist fighting, weapon toting, flying biped (no, not jet pack). This type of enhancement is similar to some loadouts on firefight maps, but would love it in multiplayer, possibly as a reward/achievement system - perhaps player freezes, new biped drops on top of him, he becomes new biped, old one is destroyed/killed or shed like a skin or as damage occurs, abilities are lost.

Also adding the LIVE Module to CE shouldnt be hard.. you can add it to XNA games with a simple line of code... which i don't know if it s possible but I'm sure someone can figure it out.. Also it would say "XNA Game Studio"...

You cannot make it say anything else unless the game is published, so it doesnt say your playing "Quarry on Halo 4 Forge" or "****ing Rabbits on ************ in Halo: ****"

A transformer - vehicle <-> attached device machines <-> biped crouch animation perhaps.
Actual geometry on the attached device machines, vehicle and biped using null geometry.
Damage would be registered thrue the devices somehow, maybe attached bipeds
