Show me the best things done with the HaloPC engine since the game came out.
Post like you would present it to an 343 Industries Engineer. Screenshot, videos, description, function etc. This is not a joke!

A member called "INSANEdrive" from Modacity had a chat with one to the Engineers that is currently working with the HaloPC engine regarding Halo Anniversary.
That engineer is so kind to see what we are and have been doing with the engine, but only this week! I mean their busy people to with Halo4 and Halo Anniversary.
That's why I need your post in 48 hours! So show my something unique or beautiful of what you have been working on. Post will be modarated at Modacity so don't think you can troll with just a blue map box. Show me things that were not there 8 years ago.

Your thought: "Right Sean, your mental, you little troll, go back to that rank thingy of yours!"

Fortunate I speak the truth!

At first I was skeptic as well.
But I'm the type of guy that just rings phone numbers and write to email addresses if I want to get something done.

I confirmed it myself through directly mailing this engineer with the question to verify this post by "INSANEdrive" on Modacity (@microsoft.com email).
I mean I don't know this "INSANEdrive" from Modacity I never heard of him, so why believe it?

A few hours ago I received an email from this Engineer and it was confirmed they are interested in what our 8 year of experience has come up with.

So what is in it for us? To be honest, I don't know.
Perhaps nothing, but we can speculate this to infinity after the coming 48 hours have passed. As the engineer put it

Quote: "Sorry, it is not yet time to discuss what this means."

So hear my plea and just for once, as a fellow community member post like you put some effort in it and you would present your work to 343i.
You got 48 hours the clock is ticking. . .

Thanks, Sean Aero

The topic that is being followed by the Engineer so please post there:
http://www.modacity.net/forums/showthread.php?23825-The-Halo-PC-Engine

@Dennis, hope you don't mind I refer people there for the coming 48 hours.

Wow awesome, I will post stuff about Lumoria there.
@cheef: I don't think it matters if you're a coder. They just want to see the best of CE I believe...who knows for what purpose!

I'm not 100% sure either. But I do think that showing off some good examples of high quality content and/or innovation will help.

Maybe they want some community content in Halo 4? Or maybe they want us to give us an upgraded engine because the community is limitted by the old engine?

Well that's the thing no details will be given at this point.
I mean as I said in the first post speculation we can do till infinity.
But what matters at this point is just that we show off what we got in the coming days.

It's possible they are thinking of placing some of the community's content in Halo 4, but who knows, perhaps they are even thinking of releasing Halo Anniversary for PC with a new, revamped Custom Edition. I doubt this as Microsoft seems to have forgotten the PC version of Halo completely now but I guess there's hope still.

I typed up a post and posted it, but it says it has to be moderator-approved first.
Which is odd because other members seem to be posting at the moment.

Could this be a system they put in place for people who just registered? Just checking to be sure.

Your post was considered as spam by the automated system, 0 posts and many links in your first post is not good for the system ;)

Its there now.

If you post some stuff, they may actually debate whether their is time in putting together a HEK..

If we show crap content, they will not, if they show the're still potential, then they might..

And showing RIPS to the ACTUAL Development Core of Microsoft is the MOST STUPID thing you can do... They will believe you will use the new engine for illegal use, and reject it even more.

Be careful what u post..

I agree. This is why we can't have nice things. Don't ruin this chance with rips.

Wouldn't showing single-player content to him get us into trouble? HCE was only meant to be for multiplayer...

The hek tools weren't restricted, but we also weren't given anything specifically for single player.

"We want to see what you have done with our engine!"
Broad enough to include MP maps, SP maps, stuff like Open Sauce etc... if you ask me.

I guess, but it might not include breaking into their maps and taking content.

So far this entire thread has been posts that don't show any kind of content created for the Halo CE engine.

I would suggest you start posting stuff.

Codebrain, we were instructed to post it at modacity, since that is where the engineer will be looking. This thread was merely to inform halomaps users of this "event".

I am hoping that they are seeing if making a public SDK is worth their time..

But is laugh if the CashCow of Microsoft stole all our ideas and sold them xD

She is looking at the active community, what's popular, and what we have as our best and most well known community members and users.

^ why would they try to 'get us intro trouble'? They really can't do anything in reality except send you a C&D.

Honestly its pretty nice to see that people are actually curious to see what this community has been doing.

I think its incredible that they're still interested, and it's a smart move for them to take interest in what we as a community enjoy, and what we can create in an engine as old as it is.

Boy that took long to upload and shot-tag each of 'em

I was thinking either two scenarios:

1. Halo:A for PC, which would include an editing kit (Not like HEK because Halo:A uses a completely different engine with different filetypes (at least according to Kornman) to allow us to create content for said game.

2. The more high quality modders (such as Kornman, CMT and TM, but there are more people than just them) will be highly recommended to join 343.

I did not actually think about the source for Halo CE, they COULD do it.

They don't want or need anything from the community. One person in particular wants to know what has been going since the beginning. That is all.

Topic can be closed, I believe a majority of the people got the message.

Thanks all.

Good thoughts.. Halo:A for PC is a good possibility.. joining 343 I doubt, due to age, and the need of a college degree.. but i guess possible

It's not like we have anything to lose by posting our best progress. Gives a very nice overview of what's been achieved over the years.
