Map Name: Pandora Swamp
Map Size: Medium
Author: Slap Happy/NerveBooger

A C10 Swamp varient with a variety of luminescent plants. Good for all gametypes for up to 16 players. Play as a variety of Elites.

H3 Brute Chopper (Thanks to Advancebo for the base model, Bourrin for Alternating fire, Spartan094 for marker edit)

H2 Warthog (edited textures)
H3 Mongoose (Thanks to Gaigher)
Covenant Shade Turret (by Advancebo, edited with alternating fire)
H3 Elite (Thanks to Teh Lag) with custom rainbow cubemap by me to match the map colors

this is a fantastic map, nice carbine, spiker, snipes, rox, charge-up plasma pistol, nade effects, shotty n snipes, the elites look great and the chopper and scenery is awesome!

Played it both by myself (foreveralone.jpg) and with some others. Great map, eye-candy is superb and gameplay is good too. My only major gripes are the weapon placement, which doesn't seem to have any attempt at a logical order, so I'm really just running around in the dark hoping for a "Hold e" message to appear, and the somewhat inbalanced state of the vehicles. The Chopper's collision is glitchy, which isn't a huge problem, but it does interfere with gameplay at times. The amount of damage taken while in different vehicles also seems a little off, though I haven't thoroughly tested them individually.

the only thing im worried about is that its too easy to get out of the map, this is really going to have a detrimental effect on the gameplay, once people work out how to get out of the map, the gameplay will b ruined.
i hope this can b fixed with an invisible wall or maybe some kind of turrets situated up on the cliffs that shoot u down if u go up there.

i can do that with scenerys too..

ask MartynLeeBall for the model colission he made for Deus Ex chopper... (idk if he still got it), but that colission model was perfect..

yeah, I tried like hell on the collision issue, with improvement, but not fixed in all aspects. I had the other chopper from Mangenkyo - before my comp crashed, but - no more. I will see if I can get it again before I release the chopper separately.

Note to others extracting the chopper, the chopper in game is for the elite and has customizing factors specific to that elite, and to that map, the one I will release next week will have both elite and cyborg markers - and hopefully the improved collision.

well... i am Mangenkyo.. and thats not really my chopper.. is from Deus Ex.. the Colission model was made by MartinLeeBall and compiled by deus ex..

the obvious and some feedback:
the msg's muzzle flash looks nice only if the gun was in front of it

correct me if im wrong the spiker has a shotgun icon, its confusing when you believe you stumble across a shotty

the chopper doesnt really have collision, something that slaps and zelik noticed when we were playing

the hud was pretty cool i like how the name appears under the health bar

the plants are fun to hide in if you know your biped color

the map's environment is fun

just to be curious are you going for a halo anniversary feel?

I got the feeling that there were too many vehicles. There is one part where if you walk there is a mongoose two seconds away from a mongoose two seconds away from another mongoose two seconds away from a chopper. For a small map, this is a little overkill.

Also, I was happy that I was able to knock all four bipeds off of their perch on the tower without using devmode... shortly before I was disappointed by the fact that I couldn't kill them

I will be releasing my test map, in which hopefully I will have improved the collisions for the chopper (I might need help). It will also have my cyborg varient with hardcandy shaders and dual visor flashlights:



Note to those who wish to rip the chopper, instead of waiting for the release, change the seat of the driver to G-Driver, but you will still need to add 4 IK points in the cyborg player anims under the G-Driver unit to force both feet and hands to the correct marker positions:

Marker: right hand
Attach to marker: right hand wheel grip

Marker: left hand
Attach to marker: left hand wheel grip

Marker: left foot
Attach to marker: left foot

Marker: right foot
Attach to marker: right foot

(The units are only poses/postures, the IK points help to modify the pose for the vehicle/unit)
