Now that i got your attention: I am trying to finish a map i editied but i get this error when i try to compile it to a .map in tool:

09.29.11 18:30:50 couldn't open scenario tag 'trailer.scenario'.
09.29.11 18:30:50 need to get the following tags:
09.29.11 18:30:50 levels\I6_Trailer\trailer.scenario
09.29.11 18:30:50

That means you wrote the directory wrong, i beleive.
Should be in the Tech help not General.

This is your problem. this: tags\levels\I6_Trailer\trailer.scenario Is missing or incorrect.

You are running windows7/vista, right?
Have you been running all your programs prior to this with Admin privilages?
If not, all your files are not actually in the tags folder, where you think you saved them to. They are in a compatibility folder, somewhere.
You need to do something about your admin privileges in the halo ce root directory, and you need to run all halo modding related programs as Admin.

ok i found my problem the filer cant have spaces or special characters (_) i removed it and made the folder one word and then it created the map file. or at least thats what i did and i fixed it.

Hate to bump an age old thread, but I'm having a similar problem. Do you know where this compatibility folder is?

E: Found the solution, but will keep this up in case anybody else gets this problem:
Go to Halo CE root directory and click compatibility files (should be a button near the top.) Then go to your tags folder, find your scenario and copy it. then leave your CE folder and go back in it (this gets rid of compatibility,) then paste it to where it should be.
